My problem isn't that I can't download. I could. It's just the memory footprint of this app. It seems to hog up at least a few megs of memory while running.

This may be a silly question: is there any way to browse App World from a computer? I can see the featured apps, but I can't seem to find any other way. And it's so slow on my BB.

^ that indeed would be a great feature. I was able to follow a link from the bb owners site for one of the 'featured apps' and download it from my phone but can't use App World itself on my phone. Weird

I think that AppWorld is draining my battery significantly, so I deleted it. I turned off my Curve, and turned it back on, but AppWorld is still on my applications. Can somebody help me with this please? Thank you

Has anyone else signed up for email notification on new apps put on app world I know i signed up twice now and when i look on app world there is new apps almost every day. I know if they emailed me whenever a new one was put on i would be getting emails all day a once or twice a week would be nice. There where some really good one that i found when i had the time to look. A lot of people don't have the time to look through every category. One other thing whats the best and worst app you have found on there. My best is Berrybuzz the worst i didn't download it but the weather channel one for what was it like 30.00 who would pay that for a weather app when there are so many for free.

What is lame about it? You need a data plan. END OF STORY!
All of the apps from App World are installed OTA which involves a data plan. You were told this multiple times. No matter how many times you ask, the answer is not changing. You can post this question in multiple threads (as you already have) and will receive the same answer. What are you not understanding?

Seriously RIM, if you want to compete with Apple/iTunes, have the decency to make AppWorld available to everyone. Right now, it is limited to three countries. And some software vendors have this mistaken idea that somehow by releasing their software exclusively on AppWorld, it lends them some sort of halo. Hello? Do I hear another dumb marketing idea ringing across another vacuous head?
Blackberry users are not just in three countries, and if software vendors want to release it on AppWorld, fine. But why not also release it on other channels for users of none AppWorld countries? I hope RIM is not pressuring these software vendors to release exclusively only on AppWorld. That would be supremely stupid! No one wins. Customers are getting pissed off at RIM for limiting AppWorld, software vendors get irate would-be customers, and end users without AppWorld are cut off.
RIM, go buy Handango or MobiHand if you can't work this out. I have been buying software from them for years and thousands of dollars spent, and never had to put up with this silly limitation due to whatever or whomever!

I updated 1.0.0.30 on top of 10.0.0.29 and when I clicked on the home screen my BB would freeze.. so I uninstalled the app but the icon remained, clicking on it would freeze my BB... so after another battery pull I verified App World was not listed in my applications list re-installed 1.0.0.30 and its worked fine since.
Moral.. Uninstall the current version installed and then install the newest release
Or did I just have an odd ball situation?
