Default No voicemail notifications

My tour has is no longer giving me notifications on voicemail messages. I cannot find a menu that would allow me to turn that off or on. Any suggestions?

If you're using a third-party vm solution like YouMail or Google Voice you get text messages as vm notifications. If you're not getting the on-screen notification and you're using your carrier's vm, try a 30-second battery pull and see if that restores normal behavior.

Using Verizon. I pulled the battery, tried it and it worked and I got a missed call notice. I have been in one of our plants that have zero signal last couple weeks. I was not getting message alerts when I left the plant and got reception back, that problem continued even when I should did have reception. Will have to wait and see, my test was in "normal" reception mode. Should I still get a missed call message if I am out of signal reception and then go back to getting a signal?

No. You will NOT get a missed call message if you receive a call when the device is not receiving a signal because the device didn't receive the call.

You will only get a message if the caller left a voicemail message.

I was not even getting message alert, when the caller left a message. I found that out when I just happened to check for voicemails, as I usually get some. I keep checking, it is harder to prove a negative since I don't know I am not getting them.

Default Fixed!!

Went to a VZ store. Had them baffled a bit too. They finally decided to try turning voicemail off in their system, reset my phone, turned the voicemail back on, then reset the phone. Now all is well.

Default Now another issue

Voice mail message fixe, but now things are changed. The voice mails alert also shows up as a SMS alert, and does not go away after you listen to the voicemail. My E-mail alert shows up with a red star in the corner of the alert and the mesage count feature is gone.

Looks like they messed arond with my settings in an attempt to fix it. I ent back in and turned the message count back on. I also changed the E-mail,SMS inbox settings to be theme controlled, waiting to try that out.

The SMS that is created for a Voice Mail alert will not be automatically marked as "read" nor will it be deleted automatically after you listen to the message. You will have to do that manually.

That seems like an odd inconvenience, my 8830 did not have that "feature". You would think that there would be a way to turn off that notification, since the message recorded indicator does the same thing, but at least has the decency to go away after you erase the message.
