Default Sprint Blackberry Curve as a modem

Please Login to Remove!

I just got the Blackberry Curve with the Simply Everything Plan.

I am currently using my phone as a modem right now. I dont have any additional phone as a modem plan on my account. So i am wondering, since they tell you that there is no PAM that you can use with the everything plan then WHY AM I USING IT JUST FINE RIGHT NOW?

I am scared that i am going to get a major major bill if i keep doing this. But last month i used it for 3 minutes and on my bill there was no charge. So how can sprint find out that i am using this? And how much will this cost if they do find out? I have been on sprint websites and no one seems to answer me!

I would think there would be a way. But I am using my Curve exactly the same way with no problem. I saw the instructions here and just did it. As a matter of fact, it is even easier on my mac, no Smartview required!

Since about October. I have simply everything. I actually added the BES buy up as well when I activated service with Sprint in September. The $20 vanished. A few friends had the same thing happen. Still shows it on the statement and online, but no charge.

No additional charges for anything since I started with Sprint except my visit to Cancun.

I just created a new dialup networking setting in Vista last night. I use Verizon and as soon as I launch a web-browser it goes straight to a Verizon page telling me that I need to "add" this ability to my account for $30/month or whatever - and there is a SUBSCRIBE button... Of course, I blew it off - but I can't do anything because of this Verizon blocking...

I'd love to know how people get their tethering working on Verizon's network without paying for the option.

Verizon is very tight on this. It surprises me that Sprint says they don't allow it and then they allow it for free? Strange. I believe Verizon is only $15.00 to add tethering. I would be paying that with Sprint if they had allowed it up front. Pretty reasonable compared to an air card.

I recently spoke with Sprint about this. They stated if you are on an Everything BB Plan (as opposed to just the Everything Plan) that it was in fact included. I called a second time to confirm with someone else (as Sprint Custer Care is not always the greatest) and the confirmed this again. I simply asked them to make the notation in my account jic.

If you are on their unlimited voice and data plan at $129.99/month, call them. It should only be $15 a month to add!

Thanks

You need Sprint SmartView:

Sprint Software Downloads - Smartphones - BlackBerry® Curve™ 8330

One thing to take note sprint does monitor usage and has the right to disable teathering so if you abuse you may get cut off.
