I am curious if anyone knows why my BES email would take longer to send out an email than my gmail or yahoo mail account utilizing BIS.

So if this is a consistent variation in speed, maybe it is the hosting company's facilities?

HHmm, you can set the interval in which the BES checks the domino/exchange server (ie. I have our BES set to check every 60 seconds).

Not with Exchange. Only with Domino and Groupwise. (The default is 20 seconds.)
With Exchange, BES does not poll the mail server. It uses MAPI and a UDP Notify packet to alert BES of new messages.
