How do you increase the size of a SMS text. After three sentences I get a full field screen. Sry new to BB and loving the storm! Thanks all, Z

Click Setup/Setup Wizard/Font === Default font size is 8, you can go as low as 7 .. This will give you a little more space in your SMS Field.

hmm, tried your idea and lowered the font to 7 took off bold and still only have room for about 30 words before it says field full when writing a text.

If I'm not mistaking Verizon only allows 160 characters in a text. There is a count down at the top of the sms text while you are typing it.

Wow, this is really not good for sms. Every post on this tread would have given me a field full pop up. Which means it is hardly a good way to communicate an idea.

The SMS limit has been debated in many threads already - it can be frustrating but there is no way around the limit for SMS at least. If you'd like to send a message longer than that, send it as an MMS or email.

Wirelessly posted (hope is everything!)

Sms=short message service. 160 characters was the standard set

Some carrier allow more though every 160 counts as a text. Just they way it is! If you need to say more email is a better option

Because of the 160 character limit on sms my company communicates our outages by MMS which has a limit too but it is much higher I am thinking 400ish but this also includes text in the subject line. We had tested with Verizon reps for a solution for about a week and found that since not everyone has a bb(they can't receive emails per say on their devices) mms's would be the best solution. We haven't had a problem since.

That's great. I didn't even know that you could send larger messages with mms. Thanks.

Yup, that whole SMS 160 character thing is a racket...
Use MMS, or, better yet, email a message to the recipient's [email address] & you should be good to go.

That's quite ridiculous that Verizon limit's the length rather than composing multiple messages. I don't think I'd be able to go through that. Most of my SMS consist of atleast 2 messages.

What's funny is that on non-blackberry devices Verizon lets you send more than a 160 characters and breaks it up into separate messages when it gets to the recipient. Not to sure why the Blackberry just cuts you off.

Huh. Just from past experience on my razor I was able to send larger than 160 it just broke it up into multiple messages. May have been the phone. Oh well, all that matters is I can just send a mms and I know that now.
