Ugh, I slid my phone in my pocket earlier and forgot my keys were in that pocket...

Now my screen has very light scratches on it...it isn't terrible, but it still sucks...

I just left the Verizon store with a set of screen protectors to make sure it doesn't get worse...

Ouch! That completely sucks. I keep lucking out with mine, I drop it -all- the time and no scratches or marks. Yet.

Really! That seems unlikely since there is a post on youtube about the screen being scratch resistant! Not trying to insult you but do you still have the plastic shield on the screen from when you first purchased it? Maybe that is what has been scratched..

When I opened my phone, there was a sticker on the screen that had a frosted look to it. I peeled that off. I don't think there was a factory protector on it

There are two stickers on the screen. Sticker #1 Covers only half the screen, below it is another sticker / protector. Make sure that one is peeled off as well.

i liked the sticker that came on the phone.

i used it for a few weeks without any issues, but i removed it and installed a shield i bought from verizion and it shows every fingerprint unlike the factory sticker.

I don't use a screen protector at all, I only carry my Storm in the OEM Leather Belt Pouch or the Leather OEM Pocket Pouch (When in pocket) .. I have not had any issues with dust or scratching.

This is kind of hard to believe since a guy on here put the storm and 3 sets of keys into a plastic box and vigorously shook it around and the phone was fine.

I'll try and grab some photos tonight. It seems more now like swirling scratches, sot of the kind a car gets

Default Scatches

Mine came with an extra layer of plastic over the screen which I am hoping and assuming that it is a screen protector, and it has scratches on it. I use a rubber skin to add extra grip to my storm and that prevents it from entering the leather pouch.

I would recommend getting the ZAG invisible Shield full protection. No bulk, scratch proof, military grade protection :D

i saw a video on youtube where a guy took a knife to his storm and it looked fine so i guess my question is what kind of keys do you have?

I have a screen protector on my storm and HAD a case but it was a little to large so i ditched that. But if your going to keep carrying your storm with your diamond tip keys you should probably get a ZAG

Keys is keys. A better question is what kind of knife did the youtube guy have? I think you can see where this is going--do you honestly think you can take a knifepoint to the screen and not scratch it? Go ahead-try it on yours, take pix and post back to us!

I have had very good experience with Plexus. It works wonders on plastic. It's widely used in the aircraft industry and is a favorite product among motorcyclists. It can be found at motorcycle shops like Cycle Gear and online as well.

I wouldn't spray it directly onto the phone's screen but onto a soft rag, prefererably a microfiber towel.

OK. Well, I didn't leave Verizon store without spending approximately $20 for a packet of three adhesive screen protectors and a rubber skin for my Storm. I also left the plastic covering on the exterior of the phone. My Storm rattles in my pocket and is fine. No scratches. I can't even imagine skining off the OEM plastic and simply putting the phone into use. Who does that with any phone?

There is also an adhesive covering for the entire body of the Storm. I hear it is the same material utilized to protect military helicopter blades. It can be purchased on Ebay. I know of one individual at my worksite who has it on his phone and claims its amazing.

That would be the Zagg InvisibleSheild, and yes, I swear by it. 1 InvisibleSheild will easily last as long as 20+ generic screen protectors. I recommend the screen protector as a minimum, the full body coverage is optional, I don't use it. Plus, you could have gotten just the screen protector for less than the $20 you spent on the crappy (read "replace every 2-4 weeks") protectors.
