Default Will PINs still go to my old BB

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all, I cannot find a clear answer to this, help would be appreciated.

If I give away my old BB to a new user (after security wipe) will the phone still receive PINs meant for me?

I don't believe it would but need to be 100% sure.

Thank you for any guidance

The PIN is associated to that device. So a PIN message would go to that device (with a BB data plan)

Does this mean that PINs intended for me would go to my old phone (and the new user?)
Is there a way to prevent this?

the PIN is hardcoded to the BB.
There is no way to change it.
PIN messages will go to the old phone.

You will need to advise your PIN contacts that you have switched to a new device and ask that they change your PIN to that of the new device, if it is a BB, or to not send any PIN messages at all if you switched to a non-BB smartphone.

One person had said that after a security wipe, the PIN address is removed from peoples address book. Does that make sense?

No, it doesn't make sense... and it's also not possible.
If you wipe your device, it has no effect on anyone else's address book.

You have to email (or BBM) your Messenger contacts and give them your new PIN. They must update their address books to reflect your new PIN otherwise messages intended for you will go to your old device and whoever owns it.

Nope, and I would be cautious of info from that person.
