Default how do i know if my data plan is working or not

im on pay as you go and they have taken the money off my credit, but when i go onto the facebook app or bbm, nothing works, (gives me a connection error).

they couldnt activate it last month because i didnt have the right amount of credit on my phone

do i have to set my APN to something.

i am on orange by the way

NOTE : BLACKBERRY APP WORLD WORKS. i am NOT connected to the wifi

Do you have a real Blackberry data plan? If so, resend the service books and do a battery pull. If that doesn't work, call your carrier.

Contents

1 Step One - Hard Reboot:
2 Step Two - Register on Network: (if step one did not solve issue)
3 Step three - Send Service Books: (if step two did not solve issue)
4 Step Four - Call Service Provider: (if all of the above fail)

Step One - Hard Reboot:

1. Remove battery from the device

2. Leave the battery out for at least 30 seconds

3. Replace battery and let the device reboot


Step Two - Register on Network: (if step one did not solve issue)

1. From the device go to Options

2. Select Advanced Options

3. Select Host Routing Table

4. Select menu, then 'Register Now'



Step three - Send Service Books: (if step two did not solve issue)

1. Log into your providers BIS site

2. Click Help on the left hand side under Settings.

3. Click the link to resend the service books.


Here is the global list of BIS carrier sites:

Carrier specific links: (If your carrier is not listed please click the global link above)

Cingular BIS Log In

Nextel BIS Log In

Sprint BIS Log In

T-Mobile BIS Log In

Verizon BIS Log In

For example, on T-Mobile:

a) Log into your my T-Mobile account and select 'Setup BlackBerry Internet Email'

b) Select (left menu box) 'Service Books'

c) Select 'Send Service Books'
Step Four - Call Service Provider: (if all of the above fail)

1. Call your provider and have them check the provisioning of your account and resend the service books.

In the set up app, use the email setup wizard, or log into you BIS portal http://www.blackberry.orange.co.uk/and you will see the resend service books option in there somewhere.
