This happened to my buddy's 9700 out of nowhere about 4 days ago. A little orange envelope appeared over top of the existing e-mail logo. But there isn't any new messages or anything. We're just kinds wondering what it's for.

RIM/Windows Live changed the icon. The change was pushed to you. Nothing to be concerned about.
