If you didn't do that, it's worth a try. Just edit the section that matches your carrier.
Ok, I can open the Vendor.XML file, from there, what exactly do I need to copy? I guess I need to know exactly how to do this. Sorry.

Just wanted to add that I just did my first Bluetooth sync with my non-BES 7100t. I am SO HAPPY! Generally, I'll still be using the USB to do sync because it's also when I charge the phone, but it's great to be able to wirelessly sync if I am on my way out and I want some info from my calendar or contacts.

If you're feeling adventurous, open the vendor.xml file in NOTEPAD, and find your carrier. (I don't know which one you're on.) For me, it was T-Mobile and it was the first carrier in the file. Then I pasted
<bundle id="System" version="4.1.0.210">
<devicehwid>0x94000903 0x9c000503</devicehwid>
</bundle>
<bundle id="System" version="4.1.0.211">
<devicehwid>0x84000B03</devicehwid>
</bundle>
at the end of the vendor section, or perhaps even anywhere within the section, since it's XML. You have to understand a little bit about tags and stuff in order to know where you can safely put the code in. Save it, and start Desktop Manager. Don't want to make any promises for success, but I suppose I could do it for you if you email or PIN me. It only takes a second once I know where you are and which carrier you use.

I wonder if there's an easier way to do this...

That would be great if you could help me out. I will email you. Thanks again.

Quick question.

Anyone have this working on a BES enabled device?

Default success with 4.1.....but...

I just loaded the 4.1 on my 7100t. I am on BES. I also am missing the "Browser." It is greyed out on my app loader, as well. I do, however, have my "blackberry browser" which I think goes through my corporate BES. I don't have "download fun" anymore either. I've sent service books from the BIS and done the Host Routing Table, Register now. I deleted the Instant Messenger app as I always do after a upgrade but this time it doesn't come back automatically as it has in the past. Any ideas?

TMO must be having a provisioning problem, I just did a security wipe and now I have no browser. I also noticed all my service books are not there. Hopefully they'll fix this soon.

Upgraded to 4.1 with a 7100g on a BES, no upgrade issues to report thus far. GUI look great, GPR the "S" is missing no biggie though. Still awaiting for the Enterprise Activation to complete (currently @ 94%). So far so good.

Peace and blessings,

Azeke

Edit: I am able to access voice Gateway on Blackberry 7100 via bluetooth, however, I have no desktop connectivity or wireless options.

Looks like TMO is back up, I have the rest of my service books. I didn't notice MMS and others were missing.

Yes, on a 7100g set up for both BES and BIS. Wireless sync on BES took a couple of hours to kick in (not sure why) but working now. New features are nice, and have not noticed any downside to the OS itself yet. Third-party apps seem to be working as well (except fonts in Plazmic themes).

I did my 4.1 upgrade last night...was missing all the same stuff...browser, download fun, email setup, and IM app. I awoke this morning to find all in order. What a life! For those on BES make sure to clean out your phone logs before doing a software upgrade. If you don't you can spend hours downloading useless phone logs during Enterprise Activation. To do this go to email (yes, email..they don't all show up in the phone page), view folder, scroll to phone logs, highlight the most recent date and click delete prior. If you have a lot it may seem as if the handheld locked up. Just wait, it takes a while. Do this in the missed calls folder as well. I keep mine cleaned out all the time and the Enterprise Activation took only about 10 minutes.

Default uH oh!

after an install of 4.1 on my 7105t without any problems I noticed there was no browser last night. I went back into the app loader to see if I had missed adding it and no my unit will only show the hour glass.

It's been hung up for the last 8 hours. I've removed the battery, tried resets and nothing is helping.

Any suggestions on how I might be able to restore my 7105t? It won't get past that darn hour glass!

Sounds like you will have to completely wipe the handheld and start over loading the OS. It's been explained a lot on this forum, though. Search around and I'm sure you'll find lots of stuff on wiping and reloading OS.

Edit: Also, after loading a new OS always delete the IM app by going to tools and under service books delete T-Mobile USA Instant Messaging and Applications delete Istant Messaging. It will prompt for a reboot. select yes to reboot. Then once you reboot and you get signal again, go to Tools, Host Routing Table and select anything and click register now. You should get IM back automatically. This application has been known to give the "spinning hour glass!"

As I have suggested in other threads, I'd urge anyone with problems to revert back to the latest OS approved by T-Mobile. You won't get support from them because they have not certified 4.1 yet.

Follow the instructions in the sticky thread on how to downgrade your BB. Here's the Reader's Digest version

1) Back up your BB
2) Remove the 4.1 Handheld code via Add/Delete in Control Panel
3) Run Javaloader -usb wipe to completely erase the BB
4) Download and install the latest 4.0.2 code from T-Mobile
5) Delete Vendor.XML
6) Start Desktop Manager and Application Loader should pop up
7) Restore your data

my problem is that I can't get past the our glass and the device wont boot into ANY OS. It's not recognized bt the DM and I have NO functionality on the phone.

Other than removing the battery, is there any other way of reseting or even reverting to an operational setup on the device.

Again, I'd have to search because I've never had to do it but I think the javaloader -usb wipe will get you going again. go to start, run, type cmd and do it from there. Search and you will find how to fix this problem. I'd just explain it if I knew for sure.
