Hello,

I am a new blackberry 8700g owner and was looking through some of the tips on the blackberry website. One of them is that when you want to insert a ? mark or a ! mark in memopad/other apps you can press the key and roll the trackwheel and it should insert a ? mark. However, when I do this it inserts a ? or ! mark, but in the spanish speaking style so it is upside down like this ¿ or ¡.

I checked my language settings and it seems to be set to US english. Is there someplace else that I can check this/flx it? If i do it the normal way doing alt then the corresponding key, it works fine.

If you press and hold any Key while rolling the trackwheel, it will cycle through all available letters/symbols for that key, one item per roll stop. For example on the B key you get b, B, or ¡ and the a key is a, A, À, Á, Â, Ä, Ã, Å, Æ, æ, å, ã, ä, â, á, and à.

Thanks, but when you rotate through these options, it always puts the ? marks and ! points upside down.. never upright/"normal" for the US English..

I know what you're reading. It says "To type an accented or special character". ! and ? are not considered special, you get them with alt-v and alt-b.
