There are no links to .18. It was never released by any carrier.

And, for the record, .18 stunk on every BB it was ever loaded on. If I were using 4.5 on an 8100 I'd load this version in a heartbeat. Keep an eye out for 4.5.0.55 and it will fix the camera and all will be well.

Please do NOT post links to beta/unreleased software or RIM software hosted on other sites besides the carrier download sites.

I actually think .18 was one of the better BETA's, any bugs posted in the newer versions were not found in .18 (at least not for me, running 8100 on TMo), the newer versions for me were just not for me, too my bugs.
Will see what happens with .55, not getting my hopes up.

So why is it .18 stunk IYO? ((keep in mind 8100 on TMo))

Thats normal, let it run its course, no matter if you think it's taking too long or not.

Normal upgrade time 35-45 mins

I got those intermittent hourglasses for a while too. Don't reboot it. Everytime you reboot it all that has to start over. After a while the hourglassing will stop. Give it time.

I am at a loss why they didn't wait to release .55 if it fixes the camera... Who runs RIM???

RIM did fix the camera in .55. They cannot control what versions the carriers decide to release.

This was occurring after the reboot was complete and provisioning was done. It took nearly an hour and a half.

After the battery pull the hourglassing stopped.

So how does one change the folder icons? I'm new to 4.5, nice improvement over 4.2

The folder icons and preinstalled wallpapers were removed from this release. Not sure why. Maybe RIM read my optimizing post.

Get them out of an earlier release if you have it.

Will the admins allow just the wallpapers and folder icons to be posted to this board?

Where are they stored on the device? Can they be stored on the SD card?

So after a second reboot the hourglassing re-appeared... but it looks like the problem is Google Mobile Updater. Each time you reboot it checks for app updates... ick.

They are stored on the device memory and can't be stored on the SD Media card UNLESS you extract them and make the individual files of the wallpapers and put them in your Media Card.

For the folders... that won't work, they must be a part of the cod file loaded with the OS.
