Hello all, first post:

I have installed bcharge yet, I cannot get barry past the ./configure stage. Here are the results:

Alternatively you may set the OPENSSL_CFLAGS and OPENSSL_LIBS environment variables

Install openssl apparently it has a dependency on it.

Thanks, but I have openssl installed. Perhaps it has to to with the new release of Ubuntu...

do you have the dev packages for openssl as well?

Yah -- try an 'apt-get openssl-devel libusb-devel' (you probably don't have libusb-devel installed either) and it should fix you right up.

EDIT: ok ignore my libusb-devel, your output above says you do. oops.

Thanks...up and running. For Ubuntu you need to search for "-dev" packages instead of "-devel"

Now Its working!! Bcharge works when you tinker with plugging in the Blackberry....very strange.

So, I have not sifted through the documents. Is there a way to do a simple backup of the whole device?

How about a .alx install when you don't have a .jad file?

Hello,

I'm a newbie with Blackberry and Linux but the deb packages here:
SourceForge.net: Files

seem to be corrupted.

I downloaded the .2 deb file and it crashed Synaptic.
Update Manager also crashes with the following error:

'E:The package barry needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.'

The programs immediately close.

How to I

1) get a valid version of the install so I can install it

or

2) remove the barry install from my system so Synaptic can open properly?

(I cannot install or look for any updates without barry removed!!!)

HELP!!!

PS:

I have Ubuntu 7.04 Fiesty Fawn.

No other non standard packages have been installed
(except for the Broadcom 43xx firmware)
(All from Synaptic...)

Hi,

I managed to get Synaptic reset by finding and deleting the "partial" entries in /etc/apt/source.list.

There were two entries. Deleted both of them and saved and restart Synaptic (Right click and start Package manager in the Gui-taskbar).

Synaptic now works, but I will have to get the source packages and compile it myself

I will see how I go tonight...
