Still not a fan of white, but good work on finding that.

Someone buy the white Pearl and report back. I'd be curious if RIM silently made some fixes to it, such as beefing up the battery cover, etc.

I say "silently" because I would not expect RIM to announce any fixes to the form factor.

I don't like the look of it. The white looks too... plastic, or something. It looks like one of my kids' toys, not a business-worthy device.

Kudos to RIM for introducing new looks, but I'd rather they put their efforts into designing a phone that takes face plates instead.

Probably meant for attracting high school students, and not the professionalism. Then again that clean white has been going to a lot of products.

Since nobody has mentioned it yet...

white Pearl comes with white accessories (i.e. white usb cable, white charger, white *stereo* headset). also i think the buttons are sturdier, and the battery door doesn't come off as easily.

I think the "black" BB Pearl looks more sophisticated compared to the white one. I think the white one is aimed at people whow want something diffrent to show off.

I thought the white model is being marketed toward the female crowd.

To tell the truth, I'd wonder about any guy who wants a white Pearl. [Duly noted that General Patton carried ivory-handled revolvers].

Actually, what is more significant is that T-Mo is selling this fantastic phone at $150. I just think it's amazing that four months after the Pearl came out that it's $150. And recall, I used to pay $500 for a phone whose ONLY feature was its small size, which at the time was twice the size of the Pearl.

Compare the Pearl's costs with the projected cost of the iPhone, which will be $500-$600 with a two year contract.

the white pearl looks more like an apple "insert object here" than the iphone really. what stands out to me of the images of the iphone is the black screen/face. don't know why companies feel they have to mimic a look like that when what it is (BB) and how it works (reliably, securely, the way I want it to) is so much more important in the long run.

yeah, yeah, the "image" and "cool factor" I'm not immune, just try to be.

Wow that phone hurts my eyes looking at it. Way to bright and where I am in Arizona it could cause "Snow Blindness" from the suns reflection off of it. I'll stick with my black one.

So if they gave T-Mo the WHite Pearl, that mean Cingular is getting the 8800! <vbg>

Just kidding, just can't see the white phone doing that well.
