Angry 8830 World edition started giving error encounted on Intellisync

Please Login to Remove!

I love my BlackBerry 8350 World edition, but it has just started giving me an Intellisync Error Encounted 0x8004ofb3 error code when syncing with my PC.

It happens for the calendar sync to Outlook 2003 on both my XP and Vista based PCs!

Any idea what 0x8004ofb3 is? More importantly how to fix it?

Look at the Desktop Manager and the Sync. There you will see a log which should help pinpoint the error.

Default Yep that's the one.

I think you are right - it does not have a model number printed on it.

Come on guys, mistakes get made, give him a break.

I don't know what the "blah blah" part means, I wonder if it might have been pertinent to the issue?

Read this, and see if any of it helps you.

It is apparently trying to write an update to from Outlook to the BB when the error occurs, from that data.

You may have a record in Outlook with an Attachment, or a record with NO data in the First, Last, or Company name field. Those are the two most common reasons. In Outlook , sort your data in View, to view as a spreadsheet, and sort it and see if you see any of those type records I mentioned.

Default Fixed it by deleting some applications - looks like it was out of memory.

OK,

I took a guess that it had run out of memory on the device, so I removed a couple of applications I did not use much.

Hey presto, it started to work fine.

An "Out of memory error" would have been better that Ox8004ofb3!

How do you see how much internal memory is being used on a 8830?

There is a 2G MicroSD installed, is there some wayn to tell it to feel free to use some of that storage as virtual memory? Just curious ...

Wirelessly posted (8800: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8310/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Also, check our fine FAQ site for tips on how to move memory hogs out of the device memory to you Media Card. There are hundreds of threads here on that subject.
