Default Emails Cuts off on Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

So this is a really strange issue. We have a Blackberry 9530 (Storm) here at work that is on the BES. The user was looking at a particular email on his BB and stopped reading in the middle of the email. He then went to his computer and started reading the same email in Outlook and here's the kicker - the email stopped where he stopped reading on his Blackberry. The email was literally cut off mid-sentence, mid-paragraph at the exact location he stopped reading on his Blackberry.

Any ideas? I have googled/Bing-ed and researched to no end, but I am hoping someone out there has come across an issue like this? Thanks everyone!

Hmmm, my first take on this one is that the Storm and BES have done their job. I mean, if the message is cut off on the Exchange server (or whatever messaging server you have), what is the BES server to do?

Can you duplicate it?

What version of BES?

MousePad - LOL I think I was not that great at phrasing the question - kinda hard to do when the issue is so strange!

hdawg - Well, in a way. What we did was to have the user send us the same copy of the email again and this time, I had my client check the email on Outlook first and it was the entire copy. So we repeated this process and had him check on his Blackberry and stop reading half way and jump on his computer and indeed, the email on his outlook stopped where he stopped reading on his Blackberry (We had him stop reading at a different spot than the first time we did this test).

I had the user send me a copy of the email everytime it was sent to my client and while he will see a cut off message on his Blackberry and Outlook. I saw a full email regardless of where I stopped reading on my Blackberry. Strange no?

We are using 5.0.0.137
