Default Blackberry 8350i won't turn back on, no red light.

Please Login to Remove!

So i was texting 2 nights ago, when my blackberry turned off completely. the red light was blinking on and off. then i thought i'd just remove the battery and put it back on and try that, then nothin.. not even a red light. now here i am 2 days later with nothing. ive researched, researched, and researched this subject, tried everything i've seen to no avail. i got the red light to come on once when i plugged the usb cable to the phone then to the computer, but then it went off after installing blackberry desktop mananger. uninstalled it thinkin maybe thats what it was, but when it was uninstalled, there was no solid red light like before. so now i dont know what to do. jd_cmder cant find my phone, neither can the computer.. (the computer would recognize a device was plugged in when the red light was on, but now no red light, so no connection to computer) so what are my options? i called sprint and asked them and they said since it hasnt been 30 days, id have to pay 100 dollars to get a new one since i have insurance. now... since i havent had this phone for 30 days, why cant i just get a new one? this is my 2nd 8350i in the past 3 weeks. both have messed up.. but this just seems like a software issue. but i cant wipe the OS if the phone wont turn on.. any suggestions? thanks!

Return it pronto! If you haven't had it 30 days you should be able to get a free exchange. You might have to press them though. Threaten to cancel, etc.

Yes you can. Once you have a usb cable and JL_cmder you can wipe the phone and reload the OS.

If only i could find those damn instructions.

Edit...

Of the top of my head since I'm soo lazy looking for them:

Just make sure you have the latest version of desktop manager and the latest OS for your phone. Download JL_Cmder and use the Wipe option.

You're supposed to get a white screen 507 on your screen now. Then you navigate to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

delete the vendor.xml file and run the loader.exe!

How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder? - BlackBerryFAQ
What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ

Also, you should be able to get a free blackberry if it has not been 30 days yet.

tried takin my phone in, they said it was "physical damage" since when is it physical damage when the phone turns off on its on and wont turn on again... these stores around here blow (please excuse the language) but they wanna help the customer but when they may have to give a free phone out, they try anything and say anything to try and explain that they cant at all help you with this problem. screw those guys, this is no at all a physical damage, this is a problem with OS. we pay good money for our phones, do we not? even if we pay 5 dollars for a phone, if the phone doesnt work after a week, we'd expect a refund or another phone. but yet they wanna see the easiest way out.. i hate customer service (sprint) and in stores customer service does not do any better. what to do, what to do.. jl_cmder wont connect to my phone, desktop, same thing.. no red light. this is a good phone, but was it worth the money? after all this trouble

It really sounds like defective hardware if the problem cropped up a second time. Take it back and insist. Have them show you "physical damage".

Take
It
Back!

Your BlackBerry is defective. Either take it back or eat the loss. There just aren't other options.
