Default Auditing BB Messenger

Please Login to Remove!

So I was playing with the IT Policy for "Messenger Audit Email Address". An email is sent regardless if the user had BBM data or not. My only issue is it leaves the message in the Sent folder where the user can see.

I was wondering if anyone is using this policy setting and what do you tell your users about the message that is left behind?

Default Messenger - sent mail

Are you absolutely certain it leaves a sent mail in the user's mail box? I would be oh so happy to learn that is definitely the case. Thanks

using BlackBerry Messenger does put conversations into the messages view, until you go to "End conversation" in the Blackberry messenger.

We used it for a little while, until the audit mailbox was basically getting mailbombed with all of the logs. It's too clunky and cumbersome to even bother with, in my opinion.

We told our users the truth.
"Your BlackBerry Messenger conversations are being audited and you will see the audited content as email messages in your sent mail folder."

Those that used BB Messenger for business related conversations continued to do so.
Those that wanted to keep their private conversations to themselves stopped using BB Messenger.
(What's funny is that a lot of those users switched to straight PIN messaging, which we audit also. bwahahahaha!)
