Blackberry Bold SCARE: Someone please explain this

Wake up this morning, go to my blackberry bold and open it up as usual.
Problem:
Both of my emails are deleted, my home screen 6 icons are different, my SMS folder is non existent, no more facebook or twitter, my messages folder and BBM is not there....
I thought maybe the blackberry automatically hid them but i went to 'show all' and none of them showed.
I go to QuickPull and do a reset now (even though I have them scheduled at 5 am every day)..
After it resets everything is normal...
WTF happened?

Sounds like the electrons got crossed. Somethings one just can't explain on an electronic device. Glad it all came back with a battery pull (the BB user's best friend!).

Look for the third party app QuickPull.

QuickPull
In response to your question about scheduling a reset its an app you can get, third party called Quickpull. I think its free.

Mine did this on the .167 firmware from ATT. I was getting alot of Java errors when this happened so I updated my OS to the .266 version and have not had an issue since

I think Rizzo is right. .167 is the default Rogers OS, it is likely your daily reboot exposed an unfortunate, but well known, bug in that release.

Actually, .162 is the Rogers release, .167 is the AT&T release.
Didn't mean to nitpick, sorry! But that said, .162 and .167 are the two WORST Bold OS's that I have had the un-pleasure to run. Every other one (.185, .190, .221, .224, .240, .244, .247, .266) was far better (for me, YMMIV) excepting .244 which encrypted my media even with encryption off. .162 and .167 had the slowest boot times, least amount of memory free, etc.

You can schedule a daily reset with the standard features that come witha Blackberry. No need for a third party app.
Go to Options -> Auto On/Off, then just set your Weekday to Enabled as well as your Weekend to Enabled. I have mine set to turn off at 3am and turn back on at 3:30am.
Never had an issue since I did that.

True, its not the same as a battery pull. But the auto off/on feature eliminates 99% of all the issues a battery pull is required to fix. I've never had a serious memory leak, icons disappear, or anything. In fact I've never had an issue on any OS version while doing this.
Thought I'd give the tip to help out the OP.

According to your profile, you're also not running .162 or .167 (thanks for the correction Klotar). The auto off does not even do as much as Alt-Cap-Del. Autorun applications and libraries don't get restarted for example.
