DO NOT POST YOUR WANTS OR NEEDS IN THIS THREAD, I WILL NOT BE CHECKING IT. If you do post in this thread, you will be talking to yourself.

I want to avoid what happens sometimes, people saying "I have dibs, it's sold, it's mine" and whatever.

PM me stating what you are looking for and I will get back to you and say whether the part is still available. I will also tell you a price.

Notes

I have parted out a Cingular one-month old Pearl and am selling everything in bits and pieces. So check it out.

Many parts are those that members cannot get anywhere, such as the side rails, speaker, MicroSD door, face plate, rear plate, microphone, individual parts making up the trackball assembly, etc.

I am also selling the perfect condition LCD display and keyboard [T-Mo themed]. As you know, those parts are not rare in that they are being sold on the Net.

I will include pics with your purchase, on how to take apart the Pearl.

All parts have been tested with the exception of the mother board which I assume is what fried on this phone when it got wet. Everything but the motherboard works. But because there's all kinds of ways to ruin your install or switch parts and say mine are defective, I am selling these parts as-is, meaning if they don't work, I cannot be held liable. But on the LCD, for example, I hooked it up to my phone and made a video showing the display is working.

I will endeavor to update everyone on questions asked, and on what is sold or no longer available.

Also, I have a public e-mail for BBF. Better to e-mail me than to use PM. I get e-mails on my Pearl all the time [obviously], but I might check BBF personal messages a few times a day, only.

I will be listing these parts on eBay next week, but wanted to give BBF Members first crack since I have read your distressing posts. The parts will probably be sold for less here than what I can get on eBay.

Thanks

Also, keep in mind I am not a professional Pearl parts seller.

I will get right back to you when I read your messages, but don't get mad if you send an e-mail and I don't respond immediately.

Thanks

Default Side Rails - Case Bottom Plastic

I am just posting some pics as requests come in for pics. Do not respond in this thread about these posts. Send an e-mail.

Thanks

Both rails have been SOLD.

The back of this piece is the only part of all the parts that has damage. While it looks "big" it does not detract or distract when it is on the phone. The photo makes the marks look bigger and more noticeable than they are to the human eye.

Due to the number of inquiries and level of interest:

I think a good way to do this is to use a semi Buy It Now system, like they have on eBay.

If you want the parts [after I e-mail you the prices and confirm they are still available] then simply PayPal me your payment, make sure to include your mailing address.

Actually paying eliminates the tire kickers and people who want to debate the price within their own minds.

So again, BEFORE paying via PayPal, confirm with me that the item is still available. Right after I say an item is available and to pay it, IMMEDIATELY PayPal your payment.

To maintain control, I won't give you my PayPal account address until I send a confirm and "OK to buy" e-mail. After that YOU MUST SEND PAYMENT WITHIN FOUR HOURS. Otherwise I will assume you changed your mind.

Sorry for all this, but as you can see from people placing dibs, etc., the Net is too squirrelly with people changing their minds, or thinking they have a week to think about things.

You can't get dibs on something you have not agreed to buy or are still asking questions about. I said I wanted to avoid that.

You need to research the differences, I don't know what they are.

But the difference between the T-Mo and Cingular is that the Cingular case has a gray color to the plastic, the T-MO case is black.

The member who had dibs on this part, but did not buy it [nor did I enforce his dibs] said that he has a Rogers Pearl and it is black.

So the Cingular gray plastic case pieces will not match the Rogers or T-Mo phones.

So I take it the "dibs" placed on this item, meaning you were attempting to exclude others, should be disregarded now and no longer applies?

Exclamation SOLD Side Rails or "Frames"

The side rails or strips have sold.

These are the chrome strips on the right and left side of the Pearl.

I have parted out a Cingular one-month old Pearl and am selling everything in bits and pieces. So check it out.)

HMM WOULD YOU MIND IF I JUMPED ON THE BAND WAGON HERE???

I have a source that may be able to hook me up with broken pearls with various different problems but plenty of good parts, was thinkin of doin this myself just never had the motivation.
Is this the only one you have to part out? cause i dont wanna step on your toes and cause some bidding war or try and compete with you.

Have at it. I only bought the one I did because it has a better keyboard for me. I have the T-Mo and I can't see the keys all that well. The Cingular has the partial white keyboard and I like it way better.

That's the only reason I am on here selling parts. Assuming my time is worth money [it is], I may be able to break even or have made $15 an hour aka made a $100 profit [which even then is not worth it. ].

Be careful though. Assuming the LCD display is the most valuable part, those are going for a low $90 to $100 on the Net. If you are not a professional retailer, you are going to have to sell it for lower than that. So assuming you get $70 for it, that's not much for an LCD display.

If you add the work needed to get $20 here, $40 there, you may not make much under ideal circumstances [I say "ideal" because I don't think there is that big a market for these parts, at least not if you limit yourself to the Pearl].

Good luck and good fortune.

Bonus Tip: IMHO you would have to get flawless Pearls at about $60 or less, shipping included. By flawless I mean that the case, rails and LCD cover are scratch free. The trackball has to be perfect and clean. I say this because people are not going to buy these parts for much if they are not in like new condition.

From what I have seen, there are not that many Pearls being sold for parts that are in perfect condition.

FYI: According to other websites that sell parts for the Pearl there are several different lcd displays for the Pearl. You have to give them a part number so they can send you the right one. apparently they are not interchangeable. Take it for what it's worth.

I noticed that the one site mentions that, but the other site selling them does not. Not sure what is what on that. Is there more than two sites that I know of who sell the Pearl LCD? [see below].

I put the one-month-old Cingular LCD on my 10-month-old T-Mo and it worked. When I had them both disassembled I did not check to see if there was a difference in "model numbers." There's actually lots of numbers, front and back. Some look like serial numbers, batch numbers and model numbers.

I notice that the site that mentioned there is a difference does NOT disclose the model numbers to check, they simply say there is a difference and to have them do the change, at $150. Motivation: to scare people into spending the extra $?

All new to me, so I dunno. Interesting though.

I have sent e-mails to both companies, asking the one how come they don't mention model numbers and asking the other where is the model number and what is the price if I order it and install myself. We shall see how they both respond, if at all.

I had a member PM me and ask what parts have not sold yet. Sorry people, I cannot take that much time, to make a list for someone, telling them what parts are remaining.

I am listing here what parts are available. So look at the list.

If you see an item listed, then the part is still for sale.

Thanks

Default Prices For The Parts

If you do NOT see the part on the list, it has been sold.

Lots of people are asking for a price on individual parts and then I never hear from them. I think my prices are fairly low, but I guess most members want to pay $2 or less for most of these items.

So you can consider if you want a part or not and we can eliminate your disappointment on finding out that these rare parts are not being sold for less than a Starbuck's coffee, here is my price list.

If a part is listed below, it is still available.

-- Bottom Cingular branded plastic piece ($14) - $10 & $4 delivery confirmation shipping. Note: slight blemish on back. Does not detract.

-- Faceplate ($31), including clear plastic LCD protector plate - $25 & $6 delivery confirmation shipping. [a site is selling these for $45].

-- Keyboard ($25) - This keyboard is the black one that comes on the the black phones, such as the Rogers or T-Mo. $20 & $5 delivery confirmation shipping. Sold elsewhere for $30 plus shipping.

-- Speaker - ($20) - Not your subwoofer for sure, but if yours is not working, this one does. $15 & $5 delivery confirmation shipping.

-- Ear piece "Speaker" - ($20) This is the little ear piece speaker that fits underneath the front part of the phone, at the top. It's the speaker underneath those two little holes at the top of the phone. $15 & $5 delivery confirmation shipping.

-- MicroSD Chip "door" - ($15) - These break easy or get bent to where they don't work. Here's a replacement for you. $11 & $4 delivery confirmation shipping.

-- Motherboard - ($40) - This suffered water damage, do not know at all what part of the board shorted out. But this has the camera, USB port, SIM door, and various switches that should work. If you are good with working on circuit boards, should be able to salvage the parts mentioned. $35 & $5 delivery confirmation shipping. Note: A site offers to replace ONLY a USB port, cost $80.

In looking at the USB port with a jeweler's loupe, replacing the USB port appears a simple soldering job. Same for the other parts, such as the earphone port and the various switches. All the soldering points are easily accessed.

Parts are being sold, notice the list dwindles. If it's not on the list, it has been sold.
