Default Blackberry Drivers

I would like to be able to install drivers for the Blackberry devices without having to install the entire desktop manager software. Is this possible?

Yes, I'm sure this is possible. But why would you not want the desktop software as well?

To be honest, there is no need for it for us. Since everything we need is wireless, the only reason to even plug the device into the PC is to charge. Installing the software and ensuring the software is updated is something that we just don’t have time, considering how many devices we have, and how many we continue to implement. It may sound silly since it only takes a couple minutes, but we have over 600 blackberry devices company wide. It would be less time consuming, and more manageable to just throw the drivers on the PC and hand the device to the user.

If it's only for chargeing the BB, don't install anything

The USB will charge the BB anyway, with or without drivers.

*or*
(to my knowledge there is no "usb drivers" only install for BB)
-install the software
-but change the .exe for Desktop manager and redirector for .old extensions so your users will not use the applciations even if they find it
*or*
i do the following -> rename the desktop manager and redirector files to .old extensions (or delete them) AND create a notepad text file (with nothing) and change it to the .exe filenames of desktop manager and redirector
so even if they find the files and try to activate them, it will do nothing

You can download and install the BlackBerry Device Manager from BlackBerry.com. The install is much smaller than the full Desktop Manager.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7250/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

The usb bb driver (that enables charging) is available via windows update.

1. Insert USB dongle to a computer already running BlackBerry Desktop

2. Copy
C:\program files\Common Files\Research In Motion\USB Drivers
To a USB memory key.

3. Remove USB memory key from original computer

4. Insert USB memory key to the new computer you want BlackBerry drivers on.

5. Plug BlackBerry into this new computer.

6. When you are prompted to install BlackBerry drivers, point it to the USB memory key.
