Nevermind I found it. These damn monochromatic things are still asswash though. And its all symphony?!?! I don't get why they couldn't put at least quadraphonic if not MP3 support in here, it makes it sound like an old cell phone this way.

but it should be is my point. I can live without it and still love my BB but it still sucks to hear an MP3 coming out of a cheap phone and Reville in MIDI coming out of my highend BB.

Does the 4.1 upgrade wipe out your 3rd party apps? That's the main thing I hate about upgrading.

I experienced that a lot with my Jabra 250. I hope the software upgrade has fixed that issue.

I lost almost all apps.. I had bblight, TeleNav, 411, BBToday, and spell check. Losing the aps really sucs, when you have to re-install them all manually.

Really? That's odd. I've upgraded 5 7520's this morning and none of them lost anything.

This may help:
you will lose your apps if you either originally DL'ed your apps OTA or installed them through DTM in a different folder than what was last specified when using DTM.
An easy way to prevent this is to centralize your BB proggies in one folder and keep it there that way when you upgrade an OS, DTM recalls the last place where the software was at....HTH's.

I lost nothing, even my messages were still there, did you do anything out of the ordinary?

Are you talking about having all the programs in one folder on my PC? Also is there any special procedure to follow when upgrading? Do you manually back up everything first?

I had my messages, but lost my third party apps. Ironically those are the ones I use most.

As a rule I always do a backup before upgrading. That way if you lose something unexpected you can get it back. I have some users who use Password Keeper and some who don't....so when I upgrade their HH I always make a backup first.....just in case.
As for saving all programs in one folder, I save them c:\program files\common files\research in motion. Then there are subfolders under there for the different apps. That's just me, though, others may save them somewhere else.

I follow a similar format but I never as a matter of habit ever store data in the c:\drive simply because if you ever have to reformat the drive it is gone. I put all data in the d:\drive. Now i realize that this is software mostly and youd say ok leave it on the c:\drive then but after all you go through to get the software and loaded and being that the BB is so finicky about what and where the installs come from, I would always feel more secure knowing it is on D: My .02 worth.

I lost nothing...u probably checked the "non-recommended" option not to back-up ur data.
I lost nothing. Everything was back on there just like the old OS. Ramble, 411, Google Local, Hold Em, BBlight, all messages, addresses...everything.
The only thing was missing was my browser on my home screen..but i got it back up registering wirelessly...

I lost nothing either, although I did have to re-do some settings in Pocket Day and other apps. I selected the option to back up everything and restore during the process. Took about 45 mins total.
