Default Handheld OS 4.1 bugs

Please Login to Remove!

So far playing with it for a few days now I have only found one bug in the software.

When someone calls me and I can't take the call at that moment I'm used to pushing 'end' and the phone will stop ringing and place it as a missed call, however since the upgrade when I push end it stops the ringing for a second then it starts again.

I thought it might have been something a battery pull could fix however it apparently isn't since it happened again today.

Anyone else experience any bugs with the software?

nothing from t-mobile? convenience key you have to program. options > screen/keyboard > convenience key opens: then pick one of the options

May I humbly suggest that if you are having problems with the OS version not supported by your carrier that you wipe the BB out and put the latest version of their OS on it. Then you can get support for it.

T-Mobile should have their supported version of 4.1 out soon; maybe even next week.

NJ I think you read my mind, that is what I am up to right now. Good old 4.0. You really think they will have it out next week? The guy I talked to had no idea about when 4.1 would be out.

Rumors - nothing written.
I have some pretty good contacts at T-Mobile and they've been really quiet about 4.1. I know it's a great upgrade, but if it screws up your BB, don't use it

Yeah, barring the browser issue its cool. I think it obviously will work better when released by Tmobile for the 7100t. I wont try to use this one from the Hong Kong CSL again.

Now, whenever I sync my contacts with outlook I have 51 contacts requiring changes. I notice one has General, Contacts while the other has General,Contacts (no space). Anyone else seeing this?

I did the 4.1 upgrade last night. All went well. I was missing browser, download fun, email setup, and oem IM application but when I awoke this morning.....Voila! It was all there.

I have a Cingular 7290 and noticed that if I delete a name and number from the recently dialed list inside the phone application, it actualy doesn't disappear until I scroll of of it.

I have a 7290 that currently has no policy, on BIS and is running 4.1 yet I don't have Desktop Connectivity & Wireless Bypass as services in my bluetooth options. This is certianly a bug that sucks!

Just to add to this thread - I also don't have any of the new BT profiles on my 7100g after installing 4.1. On BIS, no policy, nothing.

don't know if it's really a bug but, before I updated I went to the cnet test site (for bandwidth) that's over on hofo...and got a reading of 290 kbps...when I updated...I couldn't complete the test (same browser settings)

I've noticed a couple of things since I loaded the 4.1 code onto my 7250:

1) In the Messages app, I can no longer select multiple items and toggle between Opened and Unopened by pressing [ALT]+U. If I click the scroll and selecte Mark Unopened from the menu it will do multiples and [ALT]+U still works for single items.

2) In the phone app under 4.0 when the cursor was scrolled down into the names list I was able to select a name to dial by typing the beginning of that name. Under 4.1 I can only dial by number within the Phone app. In order to dial be name I must choose "Call from Address Book" from the menu.

In #2, its probably geared towards BBs that have Send/End keys. If you hold the Send key it automatically gets you the the Address book so you can type the contact name.

Default so far so good

I installed 4.1 yesterday, all looks good so far. Only having problems with some 3rd party apps. Google Local scroll keys not working, but wheel does. Notifire not working on address entries, custom works right. Bluetooth services include headset, handsfree, desktop connectivity, wireless bypass.
My real reason for install was Bluetooth connect to desktop and that works.

I am running Hong Kong 4.1 on a T-Mobile Branded 7290, I don't have any of the two issues mentioined above on my handheld. Maybe you should wipe the handheld and run the upgrade again.

Go to host routing table and select "register now" you'll get your browser back.
