Default BlackBerry Messenger 1.0.94 Question

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I did a search but could not see a specific answer to this (please feel free to hurl insults if I missed it!)

Does anyone know what (if anything) changed on the last version of the BlackBerry Messenger 1.0.94, I have installed it but don't see anything different?

Thanks.

a change from 1.0.92 to 1.0.94 is probably pretty minor -a bug fix. I can't see any difference either.

Isn't 1.0.87 the latest in the GSM firmware releases? Who has put out version 1.0.92 and 1.0.94?

What that means is that the version in your pc is the 1.87 and you have the option to downgrade to it. If you highlight the Blackberry Messenger inside the Application Loader and press the details button you will see that the installed version is the newer version and next to it shows you the one you can downgrade back to. Unless you find the newer version in zip format to download to your pc and reinstall it that way(may have to downgrade first I am not sure if it will install if it sees the same version on the handheld as you are trying to install) you will continue to see this, this is one of the reasons why I never install via OTA.

You can send an image to a messenger contact from the browser now. And the shortcut key has changed from 'e' to 'n'. that sucks.

KonTiki,

Thanks for the info. Is there any way to delete the old 1.0.87 from my desktop so that the App Loader will not downgrade when I use the loader to add new software to my BB?

everytime I try to go to the bbmessenger site on my 7520, it says it's not available for my BB. I use 1.0.86, but's a bit buggy and I want to upgrade....I wonder what the deal is.

I think if you choose not to downgrade it it will leave it alone. What I would do is wait till the desktop version is available and replace the old with the new. Thats is my biggest beef with OTA, I think it is the lazy mans way of doing things and in the long run you wind up doing more work.

Also older versions used D/A to show delivered and read, now it is D/R. R = Read.

BB site http://www.blackberry.com/messenger/ says
"Summary Information:
Version: 1.0.94
Released: 2005-12-08
Attention Cingular Wireless Customers: Cingular Wireless does not support BlackBerry Messenger at this time.

Important: Your device must connect to your computer via USB in order to download BlackBerry Messenger."

Is this true, and if not is there an OTA site.

Just upgraded mine to 1.0.94. I still have D/A. I noticed "A" when I upgraded to 4.1. It may also have to do with the theme, I don't know. I use O2 icon. I haven't paid that much attention to it. I do notice that I have a new highlighted icon when I select the main screen icon. I don't see much difference other than that but wouldn't want to have a sundial!

Hi,
How did you download it as OTA? I am trying to download it from the bb website (using IE instead of Firefox) and it doesn't pass 25%. Any ideas why?
