Hmm, I don't remember receiving an activation password for the enterprise activation before...

Hmmmm.... Already had the first 2 crashes followed by a reboot. Never had a single problem pre-upgrading...

i've yet to have issues and have been running on this code for about a week now...

as for the enterprise activation, just leave the handheld plugged in to your PC and it'll go through the activation process automatically. its rather quick, since all of the calendar, etc. are all already configured wirelessly from the previous config.

if you want to do a wireless activation, then you will need to involve the BES administrators. otherwise, its just as easy or easier to do it via wire.

But no one has said a word about the 7285. Bet you see the same thing when T-mobile releases their 7290 code.

Upgraded my 7100 and the speed-dial Voicemail slot #1 is empty...
Removed the battery couple times, still not there (used to be assigned automatically before).
Any suggestions/ideas?
Thanks.

My upgrade went smoothly and the unit certainly does seem a bit quicker, but I haven't noticed any additional volume from the speaker.

The new calculator app is worth the updgrade alone.

I was a someone who downgraded to 3.8 because of the terrible quality of the calls in 4.0. I loved the increased volume and clarity of both the handset and bluetooth (Moto HS850) in 3.8 over the 4.0 that my 7100g came with. I was willing to put up with the "quirks" of 3.8 (lost signal for no reason, spontaneous reboots, etc). When I saw this release, I figured, what the hell.

I do have to say, the volume is better in this release than in previous 4.0 versions. It's not quite as loud as 3.8, but it's definately not has soft as the old 4.0 (both for the bluetooth and handset). However, the calls still seem a little tinny or metallic. The callers voice sometime takes on a little of that "robotic" type tone. But, I have yet to encounter any of the "quirks" that 3.8 had.

They've also seemed to work on the ringtone volume. Medium is now exactly that and not too low. While high will blast you out of your chair.

I hope this helps.

Go to the Speed Dial options and see if you can click and Restore to Defaults. I think that was what I did a few upgrades ago... Once you do that, remove el batterio and let it reboot again.

I upgraded my 7290 and had the same problem. I don't see an option to restore to defaults in speed dial. I added an address book entry with my voice mail number (which I got from phone, options, voicemail), and assigned that entry to speed dial letter w. Not as clean as it was before, but it works.

One more thing... The upgrade wiped out my TCP settings. I had to add them back and reboot to get Verichat to work. The settings for most of the providers should be posted on this forum already. Search for your provider name and "APN".

I have to do this, plus re-do my PocketDay, plus re-name all of my Verichat contacts every time I up or downgrade the OS. It's such a pain.

Speaking of pains, the call quality on the other end, when you're using the 7100g in a noisy area is just as crappy as ever. My wife asked if there was someone nearby whose cell phone I could borrow and call her back. The frustration continues......

Default Voicemail Slot 1 Gone - May be a bug

I think this is a bug. I had to create an address book entry and reassign it. I could not find a way to get it back.

Other than that it went smoothly. I am not sure the volume is much greater on by H810 bluetooth.

I just updated my 7290 and now when I have it plugged into my pc, the battery does not fully charge up.

Desktop manager shows its connected and it will sync properly but it won't charge properly. The charging indicator comes on the blackberry but it never charges the battery above 85%. The battery was actually at 90% when I plugged it in this morning so it actually lost power while plugged in via the usb cable.

Anyone else with this issue?

Indeed, remove the battery and replace. Should solve your problem.

Peace and blessings,

I recently upgraded my 7100g using the Cingular upgrade to 4.0.2.49. I have found out in the process (with some help from ScOObydoo) that if you are with Cingular you do not get the "Compose MMS" feature on the messaging options but if you are with other carriers you do. Seems that Cingular did something to block that feature for its customers. When I called them about it, they told me that they checked with RIM and they were told that the 7100 was not capable of having that feature.

I just love getting jerked around....

So there's no doubt that I can do this myself by leaving the BB pplugged into the PC and I don't need to involve the BES admins ... right?

Yeah it will start a sync, and then it will switch into enterprise activation mode.

Any concerns or reasons to do a selective restore from 4.0.2.36 after upgrading?
