DM 4.1.1.9 works just fine with Lotus Notes 7.0. Been using this version and combination for the last few months. DM 4.2 is probably just finally making it 'official'.

Default 4.2 with Notes 7.0 Client - any one else have problems

Nextel 7520, per the 4.2 release notes the device just has to be run 4.0 or later load

I first tried an install over the top of the existing 4.1x Desktop Manager install. No matter which icon within the new interface I select, I get an almost immediate C++ crash. I uninstalled & reinstalled on my PC and end up with the same problem.

Tried another PC at work with the same issue as well (might just be our company's WinXP config.)

I've since reverted back to DM 4.1x at work

Will try it on a pc at home and see how it goes

I did a re-install, still happens.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Default Tangmu: Please post link to the answers you found at Blackberry.com

I have experienced some of the same 4.2 issues listed in your post. Can you please direct me to where you found the answers at Blackberry.com?

Thank you

I also tried installing at work, we use Windows 2000 and have login profiles upon resstarting the PC and trying to login I got a error message which said "windows cannot copy file \\mxfile43\profiles$\dominic\application data\blackberry desktop\transaction manager\component data\tracelogs to C:\documents and settings\dominic.work\application data\blackberry desktop\transaction manager\component data\tracelogs (after this it said about logging me on with a temporary profile). I have had to uninstall and revert to 4.1 (I'm not using 8100 so at the moment it's not an issue, but will be soon)
Had the exact same thing happen to me. Had to have my IT department create a new profile and all was well. BUT, I have not used DM 4.2 since, so maybe not...

I found it here:

Livelink - Redirection

I searched for OpenMsgStore in the technical knowledge store. Here is what worked for mine:

Click RESET CONFIGURATION in the synchronize tool's CONFIGURATION tab.

Then I had to setup my sync preferences again, but everything worked.

Default broken roaming profile

Regarding the roaming profile problem..

You may get a message about copying to this folder
"C:\documents and settings\%username%\application data\blackberry desktop\transaction manager\component data\tracelogs"

and then you get a temporary profile.

Windows does this because it is locked out of writing to that subfolder. Try putting a new folder in there and you'll see the problem.

The solution is easy but annoying:

1. Go to some parent folder like "C:\documents and settings\%username%\application data\blackberry desktop\transaction manager"
2. Get properties on it and on the security tab click 'Advanced'
3. Check off the 'Replace Permissions on subfolders...' checkbox and press OK.

Then logout and log back on and your profile should be fine.

Installed it here without any problems (NEXTEL 7520). Anyone use the ""Switch Device Wizard" yet?

Question Blackberry Device Software 4.2

I want the new OS.
Does anyone know where I can download Blackberry Device Software 4.2 for 7100t?

I have searched endlessly to no avail.

Nope. The only device today with 4.2 is the 8100/Pearl.

Thumbs up Cannot Delte ODSTRACE>XML when unistalling BB Desktop Manager 4.1 and later

After hours of beating my head on my new desk I finally figured it out

First Perform a clean UNINSTALL by folling instructions on this link:

BlackBerry Search Results

When Finished with clean uninstall >Click on this link

BlackBerry Search Results

Make sure you follow the instructions for "EACH and EVERY" folder that is storing those files but also make sure that you change permission setting on all folders affected to GRANT FULL Permission to change "ALL FOLDERS and SUBFOLDERS" for each and every user you may have.

Then you should have no problem deleting away

Restart and reinstall .....Good Luck

Attn Outlook users
Ps it would not be a bad idea to do a detect and repair in outlook prior to reinstalling of the BB Desktop Software
