Here's what I've noticed so far with 4.1 compared to 4.0:

Pros:

• Faster browsing. When I compared a 7250 with 4.1 to a 7250 that was still running 4.0, EVDO was noticeably faster for browsing. Not so much that it would be noticed without the side-by-side comparison, but I'll take the extra speed.

• Selecting addresses when composing emails has a nicer layout.

• Call log history has an icon indicating if the call was in, out, or missed.

Cons:

• Takes longer to unlock after entering password

• Slower to have letters convert to upper case in a message when pressing & holding letter key.

Is there a summary of changes in this latest version available anywhere?

And I just checked the other bug I've had with all of the 4.1 firmwares and now still have with the official release. When in the browser, if I enter select mode and select 'Full Image' (to view an online comic at a readable size, for example), I get a blank white screen regardless of the zoom options. This also happens if I attempt to open any saved GIF image stored on my device. Is anyone else experiencing this, or am I the only one?

...both personally and with my Blackberry... I have the "full image/white screen" problem, too. Has anyone else encountered this with the upgrade? This is a killer, because I'm so accustomed to looking at radar images (particularly during the summer) prior to heading out. Is this working for everyone else?

I'm also having problems in general accessing the Weather Underground site... Others having this problem too?

I also get the 4.1 Full Image / Blank Screen problem on larger images---such as the Verizon Coverage Map!

Also, battery charging is much slower---two hours to fully charge, as opposed to a half hour under 4.0.

Have you tried using a car charger. Not sure if it charges any faster but it more fully charges the battery and the charges last much longer.

is there any need to also upgrade the desktop software to 4.1 if you have done so already? i am dling the handheld update now.

i noticed that on the smithmicro site, it says that it was updated 5-5-06 but i upgrade my desktop software to 4.1 several months ago.

i also have an email settings icon on my desktop and after configuring it i know have a messages icon and a messages icon with a white arrow going in the front of it and it says

my emails are also taking longer to get sent
and no evdo next to 1X anymore
any ideas?

4.1.0268 on Blackberry Enterprise Server
I was upgraded to this level at work today.

The following no longer works:

1) Full Image Display Does not Work. I have tried every emulation mode with no luck.

2) The Blackberry Brower No Longer Works, only the 'Internet' Browser . Before on 4.0, both worked. Any attempt to use 'Blackberry Browser' errors back 400 bad request

3) I have numerous HTML sources that used to work on 4.0, but now no longer work.


Does anyone know the fix for the 'Full Image Display' issue?

Ok.

Who knows the fix for this? Verizon says they have not had any reports of it.

It is an issue, and I noticed it the first time I used the browser after the upload. How something like this can escape release verification testing, I don't know.

I am awaiting a fix for this also.

It has greatly diminished the value of using the Blackberry to access the web or email attachements.
