I was thinking about buying a 7100v, but it's for the united kingdom only I'm guessing? I was wondering if I stuck my t-mobile SIM card in the 7100v if it would still work sense vodaphone has a simcard similar to it?

i actally bought one last week from ebay 7100V, form guys called Phone Efficent. could be the same people.They sell lots.

Just make sure the device is unlocked (which means any sim will work)

Then once you recive it you can activate it with any GSM company.(yes you can just put your old sim card in, and you are good to go) such as t-mobile or cingular just by puttting in ther sim which could be purchased at any cingular store, or t-mobile.

good luck. i had mine for a week and use it with rogers in canada. i absolutly LOVE IT.

Oh and its pretty damn cool how you have one that you cant buy here.Well all 7100's are the same, except for the housing. So I guess the housing is unique which can always be chnaged too if you dont like it.

I bougth a 7100v from the Phone Efficient guys as well about 5 months ago and am using it on Rogers. I too LOVE my 7100v. I can browse the net and as a phone it is probably the best cell phone (for reception and lack of dropped calls) that I've ever had.

works on mine. I took my Sim card from my Motorola v60. After the initial setup I haven't had any issues.

Oh also when I go to update the phone like when a new update for it comes out how would I get it? Sense I don't have a login for vodaphone.

I got a 7100v, you can create a new login at vodafone(just for email purposes) and download the updates regardless where you bought the phone from. You also can use updates/OS from other carriers like Tmobile etc provided is for the 7100 series. Their all the same, you will need to delete file from your pc called "vendor.xml". This will allow you to install other carrier OS. Please read the RIM Software topic on this forum for more details regarding OS updates.
