Default When can we expect OS 4.0?

Please Login to Remove!

I cant wait until 4.0 introduced, with all the rumors floating around about the features that may or may not be available, I cant wait to get my hands on it and see for myself.

The most important feature/rumor that I have heard, is the fact that MDS may not be required for webbrowsing/webmessenger. :D

4.0 is in the beta testing stages and there is no firm release date. If you want to be kept up-to-date on info, visit this website : https://www.blackberry.com/ServerUpgrade/index.jsp

My question is, if using a BB in a corporate environment, will I have to wait until the company upgrades to 4.0 or can I just do it myself? I'm buying my own BB but want to know if there are going to be serious incompatibilities if I upgrade my OS.

You can run 4.0 handheld software while running on a 3.6 BES.

Of course you want get any of the great features without the 4.0 BES (i.e. wireless PIM sync, OTA activation, etc.)

Default contact categories

I can't wait especially for the very basic - but imnportant (to me anyway) contact cateogry syncing. It is vital for me to be able to jump fro one category to the next on the road and is a basic enough feature that I am surprised it hasn't been there right from the start.
