Please Login to Remove!

I noticed serveral other blackberries, including the fully functional blackberry my local dealer had on display, has an extra browser, it has the WAP browser, plus an additional one.. is there a possibility of downloading this anywhere?

The "BlackBerry Browser" is only available when you are running on a BES with MDS available.

You pretty much need a BES + MDS enabled for most wireless apps on the BB (At least the good ones).

BUT -- there are two ways to get to a slightly better result than the plain WAP browser. First: the RBRO hack. Second: WebViewer from Reqwireless. Not quite BES/MDS but better...slightly better...

Has your BESAdmin specifically enabled you for mds? If so what service books do you currently have?

It's now enabled for rogers customers, frankly, i don't see the difference between the RBRO 'hack' web browser and the 'blackberry browser'

no difference to me so far..

hey headtailgrep,
What's the icon on your BB? Rogers told me that the HTML browser was available, but I only see the Rogers (WAP) browser...

'register' with the network again.
You also need to run 3.7 or higher i think..

it's the same icon as the WAP browser, and the software is identical, the only difference is that it uses MDS (public) as the 'type' in options -> general

You won't see a difference. If the RBRO hack worked it probably used the new gateway( they have probably had it up for a while for testing). The RBRO hack basically does the same as pushing the new service book. Its just a matter of the gateway server transcoding the information into a format the browser can render.

This is true..

but it's a step in the right direction. Not all users are capable of using RBRO =)
