I'm using this a lot for my wife and kids to keep track of me but I have the code embeded in a iframe, it doesn't follow me so they have to refresh the page, is there anytime that you will be changing it where they don't need to hit refresh to see the changes? I'd like to see it where it shows like the demo on your main site.

Can't you give your wife / kids the password to your instamapper account? Embedded maps will likely remain static in the foreseeable future.

Yea I could do that but I was just asking a question about the software and if you were looking into the option of adding what I was asking.

Embedded maps generate thousands of views per day on some sites, and updating them every few seconds like we do for logged-in users would be too expensive.

Would it help to have a refresh link next to the map, so that you don't have to hit Ctrl-R?

It just seems like it would be easier if we could use the refresh meta tag to refresh every 15 seconds or so but it states on your site that embedded maps can't use the meta refresh tag.

So it keeps on saying Tracking...

But "Data not yet sent"

Any ideas here?

Or can someone suggest a different GPS Tracking program?

Basically all i need it to do is track me and i can send my Dad an email link and he can track where I am. Thoughts?

For those of you who get service errors, try this binary:

I installed this and am still getting an error. Blip and Nav4All seem to be working fine, so I dont know what the deal is.

What error are you getting? There should be a status message before "Data not sent". There is another binary that you might want to try:

Installed the new "beta" version on my 8110. I keep seeing the message "Locating..."; nothing else. Using the default options...

All other GPS applications are working fine, including gMaps, amAzeGPS, gpsed...

EDIT: Everything is good now. I was probably not in the bets GPS reception area when I had the "Locating..." message. It started working once I was outdoors...

It can take a minute or two to get a GPS fix while indoors, but still BlackBerries have the best GPS implementation of all cell phones that we support.

We are releasing a client for iPhone 3G, and the GPS in that phone is not nearly as good.

Yes, at least on my pearl I've seen that this app running in the background forever, until I "exit" out of the app or till I turn the phone off. Also, according to instamapper website, as long as you are not an iPhone(!!), this app runs in the background forever.

Also I found on their website that battery life on a BB (no mention of specific models) is 6+ hours. I think it is good idea to run this only when you need to, to conserve the battery.
