It is included with your BlackBerry data plan. So if you have an unlimited data plan, then there would not be any additional charges.

Default Blackberry Pin

What would be the benefit of messaging with the Blackberry Pin over SMS messages if you have an unlimited data plan?

Well, I have friends overseas and internationally, so PINing them is very convenient and fast. Also, it resembles MSN messenger with a history of what was said, etc. You also have the added ability of knowing when your friends are available and when they not (i.e. during conference meetings).

If you have an unlimited data plan, PIN messaging just uses data not the same as SMS.

Cheers,

A.

PIN messaging = data = included in your data plan

SMS does not always = data (depends on the carrier) = extra cost

I'm not sure where to look for the answer or who to ask, but I have one friend in UK (Im in Canada) who i can't pin or add to messanger, despite repeated attempts to add-delete-add him. Any guesses as what it could be?

Also with BBM, you can see when the message is delivered and read. And BBM is much more like threaded SMS, which former Palm users such as myself wish for from RIM.
