All - there are many discussions on tethering but I haven't found an answer to this specific question.
When I have my 8900 connected to the internet via WIFI, I'd like to tether to my laptop via Bluetooth and use the 8900 WIFI connection to surf the internet on my laptop. Is this possible?
In short: Laptop -> {Bluetooth} -> 8900 -> {WIFI} -> Internet
RIght now, I have it set up to tether and it works fine, but will use the Edge network even when the 8900 is connected to the internet via WIFI, and Edge is very slow for a laptop. I use an 8900 on AT&T, and I have a Macbook Pro.
This is pretty straight forward and I did connect with bluetooth with Blackberry just to test and did work with Blackberry using wifi connected to laptop but just did to configure. When you are travelling reason for tethering is to save by not using hotel internet wireless services so you would be using edge anyway.
Doc
Please forgive me-just noticed you use ATT and not T-Mobile. Sorry about that.

Yes - I have at least thought it that far through.
This would be for ATT hotspots where I have free WIFI access for my phone but would have to pay to use the same WIFI on my laptop.
Son of a ...!
What's funny is that after I posted this... a friend of mine saw it and we talked about the AT&T Hotpot thing.
I said there's no way the thread was going in that direction. He wins.
