So far not real happy with 4.5 Pearl seems to boot frequently...also the new messenging that it has including windows live that I wanted doesnt work. when you click on the IM icon it says "this application is only for the blackberry pearl 8100.Thed device you are using is not supported". The odd thing is I am using the 8100.

Wirelessly posted (8100 Pearl)

I assume you upgrade with the correct OS for your device!

What 3rd party apps are you running. Some don't like OS 4.5. They are only a few but can wreak havoc.

Have you tried removing your media files and reformatting your card from your BB. Some folks have experienced a few probs when they didn't reformat.

How much memory free do you have. Low memory can cause problems as well.

formatting the card should fix the rebooting, and removing old apps.

your formatting your media card, pull all files off the card onto your computer. dis connect your phone from your computer, menu > settings > media card > format. once its done formatting you can move your files back over, delete any "bb thumbs" files before moving them back over.

I've never used the IM applications included in the OS. I deleted them all and just use one app: Beejive | instant messaging, just about anywhere

Well worth the money.

I have reformatted I don't know how many times. I install stuff one at a time and it all runs fine. Until it starts rebooting over and over again.
It won't reboot at all if I leave the SD card out of it.

I tried to find the thread where the old OS files were so I can go back, but I've lost it with all the searching on here.

PLEASE HELP!! *sigh*

Do you have videos on your card. I reformated too and put everything back on my card removing any bb thumbs files and had the same prob it was one of my videos. Causeing it the new OS just doesn't play well with old videos not sure if its a format of video or what but with my vids off the card I've been good for bout a month. No reboots.
