As the title says, my wife's BB(curve) won't remove the notification. It says she has 6 unread...we go into all her accounts and select "mark all read" and it's still there. We've done several battery pulls, still there...suggestions?
the account that has the 6 messages is her yahoo account...i know this cause when i roll over it on her home screen it says 6 messages...it's not hidden, it's right there...when we go into the account (which is her only account by the way), if i select the U shortcut, it says there are no unread messages...
has that been covered before? i don't think so...i know how to search, and i know that this hasn't been covered numerous times...anyone with anything insightful?
Are you talking about the red * indicator or the number indicator? If you are talking about the red *, I guarantee you it's another account. By "another account" i also mean PIN messages. They are only visible in the "master" message folder.
OK. I figured it out. If you "save" an unread message then delete it for the original folder, the counter still sees the unread "saved" item, but you cannot see the item, unless you go to the saved items folder.
Go to you saved items (via the desktop icon or the menu within mail) and mark the saved items as read, or delete them.
that got it...hahaha, she remembers saving them now - accidentally she says...she meant to delete them from the phone, but selected save by accident - WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING!!!
Did you use the "View Folders" choice? Open your main email folder, hit the menu key, and choose View Folders. It shows you all the folders, many of which are hard to access any other way.
I've tried everything that you suggested, i've deleted all my sms, mms and mail messages (also in xxx733;view folderxxx733;) but the icon is still there. Can anyone help me?
Had the same thing happen to me today. Message Icon show one unread message. There was nothing in any of my email accounts included Saved Folder, no unheard voice mails, missed calls, etc. Did a battery pull and all is fine now.
