I recently got a new laptop mini and would like to put the data from my blackberry into my outlook express on my computer. How do I do this?
Thanks

Install the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, and setup the synchronization to OE.

I am not totally savvy on the ins and outs of how the desktop manager ...I have the desktop manager already installed, and I am just wanting the one time transfer of device data to computer and then from that point on I just want the normal synchronizing....can't find where it mentions OE

That's called a backup, but what you are describing is a synchronization of data between your device and your desktop apps. A "backup" in this context will not achieve what you're after.

It's time to get savvy.... From the main screen on desktop manager, do you not see "synchronize?"

From there you may select the desktop application you wish to sync your BB data with.

Does it make a difference when I am using Microsoft outlook express instead of outlook? When I went to the synchron config the configure option is grayed out????

Well true enough you actually have to configure sync before you can perform one.

From main screen, click synchronize, then click configure synchronization. Then on the next screen, click synchronization again. From there you may select Outlook Express, provided you have it setup on your laptop, not just installed. You must have an existing profile with which to use to sync the data. Profile is created when you first use Outlook Express.

Is your device connected? It will be grayed out if not.

Do you have Outlook Express setup? If not, it may also stay grayed out.

One last question....I have 2 identities in my outlook....my personal and my work. Can I sync them both? when I went through the config it asks "use main identity" or "default shared Profile"

I'll defer this to someone else. I am uncertain as I've never tried to use a second profile. Good luck
