Default Phone Never Stays Locked

Please Login to Remove!

Tried using the search facility on the site but it didn't work. Please post the link if this has been answered already.

I have had my torch for 2 days now. I lock it and put it into my pocket but every time I pull it out again it is unlocked. This has happened 10 times in the 2 days I've had it, so i can imagine this is going to get very annoying (accidental phone calls etc). Is there anything I can do to stop it from unlocking so easily? The button, which can be pressed by the weight of the phone it seems just isn't good enough.

There must be as there is no way they would design a phone that poorly surely?

Kind Regards,

Daniel

You could password protect it.

I fixed this and a couple of other locking issues I kept having by loading bLOC - works like a charm now.

I've only noticed that it unlocks when I slide the screen up from my expereince.

Other than that I'd make sure you're not hitting the unlock button by mistake.

I installed BerrySlider. It has wonky moments and I felt the need to turn off ALL of the ways it turns on automatically, but once I got it tweaked, it does exactly what I want. An easy, 100% secure screen lock that is easy to turn on and off.

AZsteelman: bLOC sounds good, but having spent all that money on a phone that doesn't lock properly is really bad. Don't think it's fair that I have to pay another £2.50 or whatever for something that is so basic. Does bLOC do anything else? Iphone would have patched this straight away.

devnull: It doesn't let you have short passwords. I put a password on there, but having to type it all out every time I just want to check something on my phone. It got frustrating after one evening so I've taken that off.

Cooper: I am hitting the button yes, but that's what happens when a phone is in your pocket. buttons get pressed. The button isn't even one of those ones that are indented either. So it gets pressed really easily.

I'll try patternlock and berryslider tonight.

Thanks for all your responses guys!!!!

Cheers,

Dan

I feel your pain, yet there are those who are adamant in their defense of the concept of having a single button press perform the function of turning off the feature that prevents inadvertant button presses. My eyes are going to need a retread.

Wanna save cash? Layer some tape over the button to desensitize it. Ghetto, but effective

Try Swipelock, you can find it in Blackberry App World. It locks the screen when the screen saver comes on, it also locks when you press the lock button on the top right of phone and it also locks the screen when a call is connected. You can swipe the bar from left to right to unlock or with a setting you can add a password.
