Default Calendar quirks

Please Login to Remove!

Guys,

I just upgraded my 8900 to the Torch 9800 and am so far loving it!

My only complain so far is that the Calendar is strangely set up. In the sense that my appointments are set as vertically as opposed to the usual horizontal and I have to hover over the particular entry just to see what it is. This is of course in the Day view and not in the Agenda view.

Next thing is that I have multiple entries of the same appointment but from different sources. I have 3 Gmail accounts for work, personal and such and I use google sync with only ONE of them. But suddenly i find that I have Groups entries and all my appointments will have multiple entries but from different sources (as shown by the different colours) Is there any way I can get rid of all but 1? I tried "do not show" in the options of the calendar application but it still does. Short of wiping my data clean and reinstalling... I'm lost...

Help...?

thanks....

I was having the same issue. I sync with outlook (personal calender) and Lotus notes (work) calender...The easiest is to delete the series that you want to get rid of...If the ones you want to keep are linked with those that you don't want (and I am not sure if they can be) you will delete all instances....The ones you want to keep should remain on your BB if they are not linked...
Key is that when you sync again it may come back so you may have to remove them form your other calenders as well...
Hope that helps...

Another Calendar quirk happens to me when adding a birthday to a contact. If I add it in Outlook, it's fine. If I add it to the BB contact, it makes it cover 2 days! Even when I change it to an all day event it still puts it in a 2 day slot. Once I have it saved, I can go back and edit it fine and it's working then, but the initial assignment is a pain in the A$$.

i've noticed that if you alter the default view to month, then save. it defaults back to day :(

Also, on .246, the Agenda view is delayed loading...

Yeah, it's delayed on every build, don't know why

I found this bug too... My only work around is to set the initial view "Most Recent" That seems to pull it back up in the weekly view that I wanted.

Hope this helps.

I had the multiple calendar entry problem. Here is the link to the reply I got.

Basically by default a calendar is set up for every email address you have set up. So you will need to delete all but one in your Service Books then do a one way sync to your device and replace all previous entries (very important). Re-set your sync settings back to normal after that.

The problem will re-surface every time you upgrade the o/s.
