I got Bolt installed on my 8900. One thing I noticed is it works when I'm connected through wifi but when I disable wifi and just run off my internet service plan it says "internet not available, check network services" I'm with Rogers and have a internet data plan??? Not sure what's up with that.

The irratic mouse issue is a bit annoying and I also noticed how you can't use the back arrow to back out of menus, you need to bring up the menu and choose cancel.... that's also a bit annoying. Other than those few quarks it's actually pretty good.

If someone can figure out that internet error message when on a internet service plan that would be nice.....

I just installed it a few minutes ago so I need to play around with it a little longer but so far it's not bad. It is one of the fastest browsers out there right now - IMO.

Wirelessly posted

Figured I'd try it again just to get a second impression. Can't stand not being able to enter directly into a text box and the jumpy cursor movement was too much to deal with. Deleted the app again.

Installed Bolt day before yesterday. Aside from the "jerky" cursor movement I find it superior to the native BB browser and far better than Opera Mini in terms of just a pure browser operation. If you're into a lot of "social" internet stuff then Opera is probably set up better I guess. I only use my browser for news, sports, weather etc and Bolt, so far, is the best I've used. The speed and quality rendering of web pages is outstanding IMO.

It's not. The jerky cursor and scrolling made it unusable for me.

I don't understand why they would creat a shortcut to go forward(#9)?!?!?! I barely use the forward button on any browser. I hope the Bolt creators have a fix in store. Is anyone else having this issue?

I have the same issues with the back button. This is basic functionality for the BB. Hopefully this will be addressed. More frustrating for me is the lag when moving the cursor. It's almost like trying to hit a moving target. Often when I try to select something I jump too far and select the wrong item or link. I then have to pull up the menu to go back to the previous page so I can try again to select what I actually wanted to select. Takes me 2 or 3 tries sometimes.

Well it's only their first beta, hopefully we didn't bash them too much in thread lol.

The back button would be a nice improvement/feature.

So are you using it, or did you dump it?

But the split screen view rocks and on a bold with .210 the cursor is not jerky. do wish for the back key allowing to go back one screen but otherwise this is a great first attempt. Much superior to opera in speed and allows youtube. highly recommended

I find that the font in Bolt is too small. I've set Magnification to XXLarge but it still seems too small. Anyone else find the font too small?

Haha that is a good question.

Well I've still got it installed on my BlackBerry.

To tell the truth I don't use it too much right now. Since I still download with Opera Mini and the normal BB browser is quick enough when going threw WAP sites.

Some sites like CrackBerry.com are rendered alot nicer in Bolt so I do use it, just not a whole lot at this point.

Try setting up the TCP/IP in the BB, Options, Advanced Options, TCP/IP

That's what I did and it seems to work fine now.

How do you get a referral code? I read the entire thread and am completely clueless. If I don't enter one it tells me I need to.

Same issue here. I would like to test this for the Storm since I do a lot of web based work on the fly from my phone. I like the BlackBerry Browser, and I love Opera, but I would like to try and find something that would feel more natural. SkyFire will be great if it's up to the hype, but I think Bolt would be a GREAT program if they allowed more people to test it and give feedback.
