Default Viewing received calls?

Please Login to Remove!

Just bought a Storm the other day. Very nice phone.

Did have one question. Where in the menu do I go to view received calls? These are calls that I receive and answer. I know my Messages tells me the calls that I miss, but I would like to see my full history of numbers that have dialed me. There are a couple of numbers that I need to retrieve from this so I can add them to my contacts.

I have not messed with any settings yet since I'm still learning my way through the phone.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums!

These steps may vary a bit for the Storm, but here are the general instructions:

From your Call Log, press menu, then select Options> Call Logging. You will see a screen titled " Show These Call Log Types In Message Screen". Select " "All".

I tried ndub33's suggestion. It now shows the received calls. My problem now is that when I try to go into the call log and delete the old calls it tells me there was a Java error and brings me back to my desktop.

I prefer Applications >> Call Log.

I tried ndub33's method and did not get a JS error when deleting, tho.

I'm getting the following error:

"UNCAUGHT exception: java.lang.nullpointerexception"

I went ahead and turned the setting back to show only missed calls, and this error has stopped.

LithiumNitrate: That method doesn't show me my received calls. It only shows the calls I placed. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

Still looking for advice.

I get to the call log with the green phone button, there's three options at the top of the screen; keypad, call log and contacts.

Went to Verizon the other day because it got frustrating. They did a complete reset of the phone. They were able to store my address book on another phone while this was done.

This is what they told me:

Doing ndub33's suggestion would make the phone have the issues as I experienced. They said this was not the first time this happened.

Call log will group all the conversations between you and the recipient. Meaning I call client A and every interaction I have with client A shows up under one name and THEN it shows when I dialed, when client A called me, etc...

They suggested me to do this as suggested before: Messages > Menu > View Folder > Phone Call Logs.

As many people that call me (numbers I know and numbers I don't know), I don't have time to scroll through each name to see when someone called. It should be organized by the time the call was received/placed/missed and not by the other party. Every basic phone has separate categories for Received/Dialed/Missed calls, and Blackberry has to make it this tedious?

I'm hoping that Blackberry will make an improvement on this aspect.

Wirelessly posted (Paul 8700G - T-M)

I use an 8700 & not a Bold. Maybe this area hasn't changed too much. If you see calls in your Messages you may be able to select the incomming calls item from the folders menu. There should be another option to show all calls or this may be a search function.

Hope that helps.

Ditto. You can get to the same list via the method coeff posted too.

That shows you your placed calls, received calls, and missed calls. And, if you highlight an entry and press the button at the bottom of the screen with the phone and magnifying glass, it brings up a list of all the calls between you and that number and you can view the times, dates, and duration of each call.

Are the calls in your call log not in order of most recent?
