For those who had dust under their screen and got a replacement unit, is the replacement unit keeping out dust better than your original unit?

Yes, a little better but not as good as it should be. You still need to be careful-- seems like just trying to blow dust out of the crack between display and case can force dust in.
Too bad its not sealed like the Bold- that is a perfectly sealed display.

Ok, the dust finally got to a point that I couldn't stand it, so I went into Verizon store and the tech there gave me tech support 800 number. I called them and they're shipping a replacement overnight. Hopefully this replacement one wont be as bad. A little dust I can handle, but a snow storm under my screen isn't cool.

I'm sure you ment to say to post a picture, as a screenshot wouldn't show you dust. I would also like to see what your phone looks like. Post a picture!

PHLAK,
You say "was"... did you get it replaced? If so, through RIM or VZW? Of course the other question begs, is the new one more dust proof?
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if there is a case that covers the entire front portion of the screen, including the screen gap, even if this could hinder the screen's ability to be pushed in? Is a case available which at least reduces the gap? If not, are any companies planning on designing one?

I think someone needs to release a thin rubber/silicone insert that squeezes between the screen and the case. It would have to be very... squishy, so that the screen could still bend/click.
Don't know how feasible this would be, but it would sure be nice.

So here's a picture of my storm before returning it. You can clearly see all the dust under the screen.

Oh wow, thats about what mine looks like. I've had mine since Christmas, and up until now it has not bugged me. Now, I see it all the time. Im hoping that when I go to the Verizon store this weekend I can get a replacement.

So I have a question for you guys. My 9530 unlocked is set to arrive tomorrow. If I end up with dust under the screen like you all are, will Verizon replace it for me since I'm with AT&T?

Wow. I got mine replaced yesterday at the VZW store but I did not have nearly as much dust as in that pic.

My storm is a few weeks old now and I have allot of dust build up between the LCD and the front glass. Is a gorgeous device however this dust issue is making it less gorgeous and is unacceptable. Like everyone here we have a few choices , live with it and allow it to drive us crazy or return it. Just for kicks I held mine under a bright light and Lord have mercy is there ever a ton of dust sandwiched between the two surfaces. Why does such a beautiful device have to have this irritating problem.

I have dust as well but I have a full body invisible shield installed. If I want to return it, will I have to remove the shield and then buy a new one for the new phone? Has anyone else done this and gotten Verizon to pay for a replacement invisible shield?
