I've been overseas for 2 weeks and have been browsing on wifi fine for the past 10 days or so, regardless of hotspot browsing or not. Hotspot browsing = browsing which requires login info or acknowledgement of some t&c.

I also have been on wifi networks which are just open and merely need you to select a wifi network to connect and bb data kicks in automatically. However, in the past 3 days I have faced problems with hotspot and open networks. Hotspot browsing no longer automatically popup the browser to login and even open networks don't work for me. I.e. I can connect to the wifi network with full 4 bars of signal but i am unable to get a stable blackberry data connection and even at times get no connection for hours even with a full wifi connection. For hotspot networks, even going to browser manually and selecting my homepage doesn't lead me to the hotspot login page. Anybody knows why?

Do you have a blackberry data plan with your carrier?
required for data via the cell service.

Yes I do have a blackberry data plan with my carrier. I'm on roaming now so I get a little red triangle on the top right corner. I've had no problems for days until recently and that baffles me. I've also disabled data roaming.

Try pulling the battery to reload the OS.

Tried a couple of times at each different wifi zone. Still the same problem with unstable blackberry connection or none at all..

Ok so the radio and the WIFI function are different electronics. Unless you loaded an app before this started It may be a hardware problem. Another problem can be a simple carrier issue with your location or area.

I've only been on at&t whenever I roamed and i never used roaming data so i don't think it's the carrier.. I haven't loaded any apps or downloaded any new apps either.. Any other possible solutions?? I would conclude its a hardware problem as a last resort but i haven't done anything to my phone to possibly cause a hardware malfunction..

If you are roaming and have disabled data while roaming, then you will not have a connection to RIM. Am I missing something?

Yes I am roaming but I mentioned I had it working for 10 days before it started failing.. I disabled data roaming which means I won't be using at&t's data plan but BIS can connect via wifi too...
