Question Call log problem and "Uncaught exception...."

Please Login to Remove!

I have a problem with my Blackberry Storm and the call log. Incoming calls are being logged, but outgoing calls are not being logged.

Now here is the troubleshooting steps I have taken:

1. From the Storm main screen, I press the "SMS and MMS" icon
2. I press the blackberry button
3. I select "View Folder" link
4. I select "Phone Call Logs" link

Now after about 1.5-2.0 seconds, I get a popup that states:

"Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException"

w/the OK button

5. I press the OK button, and the message goes away.

Ok, with me so far?

When I open the call logs the normal method, by:

1. Press the green phone button on the Storm
2. Press the call log icon
3. It displays the calls but if I dialout on a number, it does not show the call.

By the way, one other thing, I get the error message every time I boot up my telephone. This started on Thursday of last week. I have not installed any other software during this same time period and the "Call Log" was working fine ever since I received my Storm back in December.

Any ideas???

Did you try removing the battery and waiting 30 seconds b4 re-installing battery again?

Sounds like the ERROR message ic a problem with outgoing info?
Im sure more people on here will have better advice?
Did you call customer serice with Blackberry or your cell provider?

Question Same problem but mine does work only for missed calls

I got the exactly the same problem here with this Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException after turn on the mob.

However, my call log only records the missed calls, no more incoming or outgoing calls can be recorded.

Please give advice!!!

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

I'm getting the exact same problems as statustray.

I have "all calls" selected in the "call logging" area of the phone options but nothing gets logged except missed calls.

I'm also getting the same error message.

Please help!

Try doing a backup of your data on Desktop Manager then restore the contacts, do a battery pull then try it. Make sure you know what you are doing, otherwise you might loose your contacts.

I have the same problem. The "Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException" has been plaguing my phone for some time. In my call log it wont store any new calls incoming or outgoing, it only stores the calls from3 months ago. Basically only the first 15 calls I ever made on the phone. It does the same for me everytime I turn the phone on it has the "Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException". And randomly as I use the phone. If I get an incoming call and hang up after done talking to the person, there is no way for me to recover the number if it wasn't already stored. Any suggestions????

It is a theme problem. I had the same issue. Please plug your BB to the DM, then go to Backup and Restore, then Advanced, go to your Call Logs, and press clear. It will clear all your call logs, and it will probably solve the issue.

Default A little clarity.

BTW when trying this go to Phone Call Logs, NOT call logs. I looked around for about 10 minutes wondering why call logs wasn't in my DM. Which stands for Desktop Manager. The program on your computer you plug into.

I have exactly the same problem. I tried to solve it like you said. I tried to clear the phone call logs with DM. It appears in grey and I am not able to clear it. What should I do ?
Thanks
