I bought mine two days ago and I got the same. Basically, you can't use the internet. It's said 48hrs but mine came in ten mins. When the letters 'gprs' change lower case to capital letters then the internet can be accessed providing you have good signal strength.
Hope that helps.

My wife's phone (Curve) are experiencing the same problem. I noticed the network has changed from GPRS to GSM, which I know are not able to receive data. I have a 9800 and it works fine in our area. We have phoned our mobile service provider, and went through all the drills like "removing the battery, turning the wireless and the network off and then on, going onto a different network and then beck, fiddling with the hosting table, etc". And YES she has a data plan. In fact her phone was working perfectly for 4 days since she got it, and now we are stranded paying for something we dont have.

I seriously think Blackberry is overrated and have a LOT more flaws than most phones on the market. We are just to ignorant to admit it. I'm really starting to feel like we have wasted our money. Searching the net, I discovered that this has been an ongoing problem for YEARS and no-one has come with a proper solution yet.
