as an owner of many models of blackberry's starting with the 8700,8800,8300,8310,9530,9500,9000 and i am on the 9700. i have to say that blackberry has done a great job with the upgraded bold. over all feel is solid and performance was nice. the 128 megs of storage for programs is a major improvement. the auto focus cam is great for quick pics. i did find that the keyboard was a little cramped compared to the BOLD 9000 but after a few days the keyboard feels nice. one thing that some people who are used to to the track ball the touch mouse is def nice it takes an hr or two but after the first day you become a professional. over all the 9700 is a def upgrade from the 9000 and is worth the money. just a heads up if you have large hands i would def go with the 9000 bold because overall its a bigger then the 9700.

I have a Tour. My wife and son both have the 9700. I am envious. The track pad is a wonderful invention. And they have WiFi. They rub it in all the time. I tell them they have the ultimate bb. They agree and tell me I don't.

it is def a nice phone i am using tether berry and the 3g is awesome on it. i am sitting in a cafe in NYC as i write this and really nice to have internet where ever you want and not have to worry if your going to find an unlocked WIFI around the area.

I did a slight search and found out that it does but i am not sure if you need a tether plan from the way they are talking about. i dont have a tether plan and i also connect via Bluetooth so i am not sure if the desktop manager also lets you do that but if it does thats cool but this whole write up about the 9700 was not just based on how nice the tether-berry works just how well designed the 9700 is . but thanks for the info i will look into the whole tether via desktop but will it also use the full 3g speed or is it locked down to a certain setting.

We can fix that easily. The 9700 other than being so great also has the highest electromagnetic readings ever recorded on a handheld device. I'm mobile to quote the sources for you but google is your friend.

Good point but that is one reason I use a CDMA phone as the electromagnetic field is on the average lower. If I remember the Storm 1 and 2 have fairly low amounts of radiation compared to the US GSM phones.

Not that that is of much relevance. Certainly, no health issues, judging from tests (and statistics).

i agree.. i think the bold 9000 is the perfect size, but the functionality of the 9700 surpasses it majorly. it's an amazing blackberry, so the newer models should be just as awesome xoxo
