Default Request to relaunch the Bold 9000 in its original size

Please Login to Remove!

Recent threads on various Blackberry forums make it very clear that many people are not happy with the new smaller Bolds (ie 9700 and 9650).

Like me, they want a full sized Bold like the original 9000 with a large keyboard and screen.

On behalf of these people, I respectfully request Blackberry to re-launch the Bold 9000 - in its original size.

We love the big keyboard, big screen, leather-feel back - and the way the original 9000 device feels in our hands.

We don't like the newer scaled down versions of the Bold (9700 and 9650) because despite their performance improvements they feel too small and fiddly. They are less easy to type on and the screens are too narrow.

Smaller is not always better. There is a reason knives and forks have remained the same size for centuries - they are ergonomically effective. There is no point in making them smaller just because you can.

We want an upgraded version of the original Bold with the same user friendly dimensions – with better performance (latest software, faster processor, better camera etc)

It is no accident that the Bold 9000 is one of Blackberry’s most successful models of all time. Online forums suggest that many people are reluctant to let their 9000 go, or to upgrade it, because they want to retain the large keyboard and screen.

Blackberry please hear our call for a new full-sized Bold 9000. We don't want to have to leave Blackberry to find a decent sized phone elsewhere.

Isn't the 9650 pretty much the same size screen and keyboard just with a track pad instead of a track ball?

Ok so it's slightly smaller, but what's 3 thousandths of an inch? That's barely noticeable unless they're side by side...

Yeah I just saw the 9800 and I really like it... might ask AT&T if I can upgrade to it soon...

And BBnumber, thanks for the correction...

It's really not noticeable unless you have the two side by side, and even then, it's so minuscule that it really shouldn't matter IMO...

I'll sign the petition for a real "Bold" size 9000 replacement with trackpad, 512 memory and OS6 - but I don't think they will build a keyboard that big (and nice) again or stereo speakers.
