Unhappy RIM Data Outage 02/02/09

Please Login to Remove!

I've got an office full of AT&T users in West Houston, TX with a Data Connection Refused message. Sim removal and reboot has no affect. Our users in Mississippi are all good.

Anybody else seeing problems? Any site to check current outages?
Thanks,
Allen

Similar problems in North Houston - Greenspoint area. Can't re-activate blackberry, getting "No service connection" errors. Can't view internal or external webpages or receive e-mail.

EDIT: Just verified that several of our AT&T users cannot access any data connection or receive e-mail. Our Verizon users are just fine.

I have 1100 users here in Austin. Same reports as above. Our telecom group has been in contact with AT&T and confirmed outage. No ETR.

From what I understand, RIM or the carrier don't provide direct notices about outages without a specific level of service agreement until after it's been resolved. I've used this site before and had great luck with getting information.

Default TMO BB - No BIS?

Sometime between 7AM and 11AM CST this morning my BIS stopped working. When I go online to T-Mobile.com to check out the internet email settings, it asks me for my PIN and IMEI numbers. It eventually errors out with:

We apologize, there was an error trying to access the service. Please click here to try again.

I am now on the phone with BB support at TMO and he can replicate the issue. While there is no known outage, he just heard the rep next to him having the same issue.

I logged onto the Wife's TMO BB account and it's fine.

PIN to the BB works fine. EDGE, full signal etc.

Hard pull, Host routing table etc. all done.

They are escalating this to RIM.

Edit: RIM Confirms that a server is out on RIM's side and other carriers are affected. They do not have a ETA as to when it will be resolved. This is a known issue on RIM's side.

Default GMail not working?

I stopped getting email on my Bold about ten hours ago. Tried a battery pull, resent service books.

The diagnostic test says that I am not connected to Gmail. My Blackberry email address (@mobileeemail.vodafone.in) works fine.

Any idea why this would happen? It just stopped working, I didn't change anything.

There is NOT a nationwide RIM outage.. that is hogwash. There is a limited area of Texas with ATT data down. That is all.

I'm still trying to figure out what drugs these people are on. It's been confirmed that it's a AT&T Data outage in TX only. Nobody else can provide a trouble ticket number and AT&T has confirmed it.

I personally suspect that AT&T is having a data issue which is independent of a specific RIM box being down in their data center (which is what I was told).

If someone wants my RIM ticket number, they can PM me.
