Default How to tell installed apps to use Wifi all the time instead of Blackberry internet?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all . I have blackberry bold 9700 with data plan and i want to control my data plan usage by using Wifi for some applications all the time. For example windows live messenger, web browser(blackberry browser and opra mini) or many other 3th party applications that i install.

I looked inside those application for an option to make make it Wifi only but couldn't find such thing for all those applications. Most of installed applications on my n95 phone had an option to set up default network usage but couldn't find similar thing for blackberry installed applications!!

So could you guys tell me how i can tell these applications not to use blackberry internet and instead use Wifi at all time ? I don't want disable mobile network from mange connections since i will not be receiving calls !!

You can't tell them if they don't have the option to.
However, if wi-fi is on, active and a white not grey icon, alot of those applications will use the wi-fi connection anyway.

(when both wifi and mobile network(BIS) is on !!). i recently got sms from my operator about fair use policy thing so i don't want to get over charged therefore, i want to use wifi when i am able to. So there is no way to turn off BIS but still receive calls ?

nope. wi-fi is a data service, it requires data services to be ON.

EDIT: Never mind. I should have read your original post more thoroughly...............Read Draven's post in #2 again. Did you see what she was saying about the app's options. If the app you are data heavy with has the option to choose which connection to use, and you can set it to wifi, that may be your solution. .... Just want to be sure you caught that.
