Default Quick Keyboard Lock

Please Login to Remove!

Hello, is there a way to lock the keyboard on the Curve 8320? I remember on the Pearl you hold down * but it doesn't work like this on the curve. Anyone know how? Thanks in advance.

If you turn off "dial from home screen" you can use the K shortcut key and it will lock the keyboard.

To turn off "dial from home screen", go to the PHONE screen and hit menu --> options --> general options. Scroll down to "Dial from home screen" and use the drop down menu to choose NO.

Hope this works for you. The other shortcuts are really handy as well.

I set the left-side Convenience Key to the "Keyboard lock" function....so all I have to do is hit the let convenience key and pop it back in my holster sight-unseen - and the keys are locked. Very convenient.

Don't forget that you can hold the mute button for a few seconds. This feature is designed to allow you to prevent "pocket-dial-syndrome" without forcing you to enter your password next time you want to use the phone.

I.e., enters "standby mode".

I typically use the K from home screen to lock my keys. Old habit.

I do this as well and it works great. Now does anyone know a keyboard shortcut to set the phone to vibrate? I believe when I had my pearl it used to be that you'd hold the # down and it would switch the phone profiles from normal to vibrate and back again. I really miss this feature and just got an 8310 curve. Going through the profiles manually to switch is a little inconvenient when I need to switch to vibrate right away.

If your "dial from home screen" is off you could use the F key shortcut to get you to the profile screen.

Or, you could set one of your left/right convenience buttons to profiles as well.
If you don't want to turn off "dial from home screen" and don't have a spare convenience button, you could set a password for your bb and set it to lock automatically after a few minutes and then set the convenience button to profiles.

Same thing I installed, works GREAT!!! Has a custom time option so you can choose how long before it kicks in.

When you use the geek & proud auto lock program, once it's lock, how do you unlock it?

I set my left convenience key for my (Profiles) shortcut....but one option I found if using the BB Zen theme is the trackball scrolls directly up to the "ringer" icon...thus simply clicking the trackball brings up the menu of vibrate, quiet, etc. ...

Whenever I hit the "k" key it asks if I want to assign a speed dial, and my dial from home screen is turned off.

Any help?

Mine is giving me a Language box when I hit Alt + Enter. How do I disable that so that when I hit it, it locks my keyboard.
