Default 8820 "Access Point Details" Start tone?

Please Login to Remove!

Riddle me this:

On my 8820 I go to Manage Connections > Wi-Fi Options > Menu > Wi-Fi Diagnostics > Menu > Site Survey.

After I start the scan and find at least one access point, I press Menu and bring up Access Point Details. From there, I hit Menu again and there is an option labeled "Start Tone". If I press it, my BB starts beeping at seemingly random intervals. What the heck is it doing?
